Crime Is On The Rise In Downtown Salisbury Maryland

I received an interesting call this morning from my neighbor informing me that their two air conditioning units has been stolen. They explained to me that when the company that services their units went onto the roof, my two units had been stolen as well. Keep in mind Folks, these are FOUR commercial a/c units on a second floor roof.

The Opportunity Shop called the Salisbury Police and a report was taken. They explained to the Salisbury Police that my units were stolen as well. However, the Officer never went onto the roof when they had the opportunity. They never took pictures and they never searched for fingerprints.

Today I learned when the Opportunity Shop talked to the Detective on the case, they mentioned my units as well and the Detective said there's nothing in the report about Joe Albero's units. (Mind you, I wasn't made aware my units had been stolen until this morning) They told him they told the Officer but he never took pictures or went up onto the roof. You have to access my roof in order to get to the Opportunity Shop roof.

I've also been told the wiring to the electrical box on my building has also been stolen. Obviously I haven't been able to get to my building to see what damage has been done but I will soon enough.

Let me add this as well. I own a building in Pittsville that used to be owned by an electrical supply company. When I bought the building it had many spools of commercial wiring worth around $50,000.00. A few weeks ago I got a call telling me someone had broken into the building. Low and behold, they stole ALL of the electrical wiring. Now there's a Fire Department next door and a busy restaurant and no one saw a thing. I'm talking BIG spools of wiring. The Sheriff's Department told me this was the biggest theft crime to happen this year in Wicomico County.

When I spoke to the Detective on the case they told me this was going to be very difficult to solve. GO FIGURE. Someone with $50,000.00 worth of scrap wiring and it's going to be difficult to solve. I've never received a follow up call on this case.

Nevertheless, crime is going UP, not down. To think a group of people can go onto a roof in Downtown Salisbury and steal 4 air conditioning units as well as wiring from the ground floor and no one saw anything is just ridiculous.

For the Salisbury Police to refuse to take a report on my building should tell you what retaliation feels like for someone like myself. Oh, yeah, we see there's been a crime but we'll just wait to see if the owner of the building contacts the Police.

I ran for Mayor because I wanted to be a part of making things better. I run Salisbury News because I want to make things better. It's no wonder why people want to leave this area. Heck, if Salisbury can't even Police the Downtown area now, what will happen when Ireton and Day get their 500 subsidized housing units on the parking lots Downtown. Oh, that's right Jimmy, you'll need to raise taxes to hire even more Police Officers while your giving away EDU's for special interests. The taxpayers will handle it, right?

I guess that mean Terry Cohen isn't fiscally responsible, BUT YOU ARE?

More to come.

OMG!!! Shame on the police.map

Sorry to hear about your and the Opshops losses. One has to wonder about crimes of opportunity ( no pun intended), particularly the nearby construction and assumed sight-lines as a result.
It seems like they bust a lot, if not most scrap metal thieves these days- hopefully it's just a matter of time.

as for the mayor and his sycophant majority, what an embarrassment to our city and community.

Anonymous said...

How could someone get away with that in downtown. You would think someone saw something.

Anonymous said...

A lot of residential units were stolen too.

Anonymous said...

Firefighters talk about insurance rates being lower because we have paid firemen. How many police officers do you think we'll need to get lower insurance rates in Salisbury.

Anonymous said...

If the police didn't follow standard procedures you have every right to sue the city.

Anonymous said...

This is a police cover up. They saw a crime and failed to report it. You should be very proud Chief.

Anonymous said...

Funny how you expect LE to just magically do a crime report based on a neighbor's assumption. Really, is that the way you think police reporting works? How stupid can you be? Why not take responsibility for your own neglect like anyone else?

JoeAlbero said...

anonymous 9:43, you act as if I am the criminal here.

First of all, the Opportunity Shop showed the Officer pictures of my units as well as theirs.

As far as police reporting, in Pittsville, several Officers came to the scene, searched my building for EVIDENCE and took pictures. I'm sorry, is there some other way it should be done. Like sitting in a car and never looking at the scene. Please do educate me and others.

As for "neglect" please tell me what exactly I neglected. Or, (as usual) will you shut up now and go away?

JoeAlbero said...

I'll add, IF the Officer had gone to the roof and examine the theft of the Opportunity Shop they would have had to access my roof first. They would have immediately seen the damage on my units as well.

Ireton and Duncan don't want to do their jobs. They want paper pushers and tell people to call their insurance company instead.

I feel bad for these Officers who went through so much training only to be held back from their talent and abilities.

You have to wonder just how overwhelmed the Detectives are at this point.

Joe, Unfortunately the theft of air conditioning units is big business. When you have your units replaced talked to your heating and air conditioning tech about securing them with locks and chains. It's happening all over the county, but it's only your website that is getting information out to the public. If you think you are immune from this type of theft, think again. I know someone who works in the heating and air industry and the theft of the units is quick cash. So please get the information out to your readers so they can secure their units.

As for the police, I would call and file my own report just to have it. You will need it for the insurance claim. Cops in this area are such a$$holes. God forbid you speak the truth about them and they will always hold a grudge against you.

Anonymous said...

There is obviously another way to get on the roof, unless they broke into your building as well...

Anonymous said...

The Sheriff's dept. is no better. I was out of town for 2 months and during that time one of my outbuildings was broken into. My neighbor called 911 and was connected the WCSD to report the break in. They were told that only the property owner could report the crime and WCSD would not respond or take a report unless the break in was reported by the home owner.

JoeAlbero said...

anonymous 9:56, there is no other way to access my roof, even from inside my building.

Mind you, there's a lot of work being done at Feldman's but there's also a lot of work being done on the old Ethan Allen building, in which they CAN access my roof.

Now, IF the Police had contacted me, that information would have been forwarded.

Oh, that's right, I "neglect" to do my job though. I forgot.

10:00AM...so what the police are saying is that if you see 2 guys knocking out a window in the back of your neighbors house, you are wasting time calling the police, because you aren't the homeowner?? We hear a LOT of propaganda about "proactive" policing. But, when presented with accounts, reports, or evidence of a crime, the police find every possible reason to look the other way? How about some "reactive" policing? Or would that interfere with he real MONEY MAKING endeavors, like seat belt patrols and radar traps? By the way, you may want to see if YOUR picture is posted in the police barracks for "inattention".

Good ol' karma Albero. It sucks to be you. Answer me this. Why on earth would anyone want to help you?

JoeAlbero said...

anonymous 10:19, Oh, I don't know. Perhaps spending 9 years exposing the truth, moderating comments, reuniting animals, helping the Salvation Army, the homeless, feeding the hungry, shall I go on?

In many ways it does suck to be me. It takes a big man to stand up to the people I have. I didn't run and hide. I didn't settle, I fought.

There's always going to be people like you no matter where we go. The strong get stronger and the weak get weaker. Your statement proves just how weak you are, "anonymous".

Anonymous said...

This isn't just about Joe. There was a crime on a christian organization that also serves the community. Do you wish karma on them as well.

10:14 Correct. Find out who was operating a crane next door would be a good place to start. You are not going to lower those units down with a rope.

Anonymous said...

crime is up everywhere. I suggest you install video cameras, that's the only way you'll ever catch them cause the inept police departments, (city county state) don't give a rats @ss about catching criminals or protecting the public. They just what to raise revenue for their respective masters!

Joe, you are always saying you want to "make things better". How can you make things better when you are always trashing people and don't always know the facts.

So, there is a Fire Department next door; well why would they watch after your stuff the way you trash Fire and EMS personnel all of the time?

Anonymous said...

Had to be a crane involved and I bet they did it in broad daylight during working hours. Disconnected them and carried them over to the roof of where the construction is happening and lowered them over there.

Anonymous said...

Joe,
No one has to pat themselves on their back for during GOD work. Your just a man in this area who owns a blog that speaks of a lot of hate. It's about respect of all members in the community. The majority of the people do not have respect for you. However, you do have a small group of followers. You can't change this area until you become a part of a very old good ole boy system that goes back as far as I can remember with colbourne Dykes. Until then, No one really cares about what you think, do or what is taken from you. Salisbury, Md sucks. Wicomico County sucks. That's why some leave this area. Life is so much better once you leave the Bad Aura of the Eastern Shore. Take your Obama hating azz back to where ever you came from.

Albero needs the insurance money. Christmas is coming, you know.

JoeAlbero said...

anonymous 11:31, Seriously? Because we publish the SFD calls for service, I'm trashing them?

Because we publish expensive Fire Trucks going to lunch or dinner, I'm trashing them?

You must be one of those liberals that thinks only one side of life should be exposed and when someone disagrees with you people like me are simply hateful and bad people.

Let me assure you, I respect ALL Firefighters and EMS. More importantly, I disagree with Salisbury's LEADERSHIP and how they close their eyes to the obvious. Why, because they refuse to treat the TAXPAYERS money as if it were their own.

You know damn well if any one of these Firefighters. EMS personnel and Mayor had to pay for the equipment, gas and upkeep out of their own pockets, trust me, those trips to get lunch and dinner wouldn't be happening.

So I disagree. That doesn't mean I dislike any of these fine people who are trained to do a job. I also feel more Volunteers could help ease the financial pain of a $7,000,000.00 a year burden on the taxpayers. We're constantly hearing about how the Volunteers saved the taxpayers MILLIONS of dollars by volunteering. Go to Pittsville, Parsonsburg, Powellville, Hebron and many other Volunteer Stations and they'll confirm this as fact.

My beef/disagreement is with the LEADERSHIP. My guess is that you'll refuse to respond to my reply.

Saving taxpayer money, (I guess your saying) won't "make things better", right?

Anonymous said...

That is the problem with this city. The city has no clear leadership. Thank god Joe informs us readers of the real truth about what happens. You won't get that from the liberal media. It is a damn shame that these fools steal other peoples property. You have folks like Fake Day trying to create false advertisement websites depicting Salisbury as this happy magical place. He goes around taken credit for painting a couple bike signs on the road and giving away the firehouse. He makes me sick he is so phoney. Trying to make it seem that downtown is being revitalized when in all reality downtown Salisbury still has nothing to offer. The worthless city council and the homo pansy mayor. This town has no clear leadership.

anonymous 11:44 said, "However, you do have a small group of followers".

Let's start with just that. I've been at this for 9 years. IF you happen to think or believe that Salisbury News has a small group of followers, your nuts. You just keep on thinking that. However, I'm the guy who went door to door NOT afraid to meet and greet thousands of people during my campaign for Mayor. I'll never forget a current public official saying, "you mean to tell me you've not hat one door slam in your face". This coming from a person I respect very much and I never thought such a thing would happen to them. Guess what, not one door slammed in my face. I've said it a thousand times, I had SEVEN people out of more than seven thousand tell me flat out they were voting for Jim Ireton. Each and every one of them were very kind and very respectful.

Not only do I see the daily traffic on Salisbury News, I went to their HOMES and was extremely well received. So again, you just go on believing that we have very few followers and that the majority of people out there dislike me. You are very wrong and my experience proves just that.

As far as me speaking a lot of hate, perhaps your right. I do HATE any so called man that has to verbally attack a woman. Actually, I really don't like the hate word. It's more like, I have no respect for someone like that.

As far as me leaving, well, obviously your not man enough to say so to my face. I'll go or stay wherever I like. I am not a good old boy. I'm a guy who pays taxes and deserves the same services you Obama freeloaders suck off of. If you get the proper services, well, I, in the very least, deserve the same.

The combined population of Pittsville, Powellville, Hebron and many other small towns is not even close to Salisburys. Albero, your volunteer argument holds zero credibility as does much of your other complaining.

JoeAlbero said...

anonymous 12:06, OK, because someone named anonymous says so, it must be true. You voted for Obama, didn't you.

So your saying, (of course OFF TOPIC) that Volunteers don't save communities millions of dollars each year, right?

JoeAlbero said...

Oh, crap, I forgot to add. And Salisbury has HOW MANY actual Fire Calls a year?????

Anonymous said...

What does population have to do with paid v volunteer fire departments? Salisbury md pop = 31,000. Lower Merion township which is a suburb of Philadelphia = 57,000 and is 100% volunteer. In addition, Lower Merion is one of the wealthiest communities in the US. Google it and learn something.

JoeAlbero said...

anonymous 12:15, THANK YOU!

Anonymous said...

Volunteers work very well in small communities. There you go putting words to twist it your way. What IF, there were multiple or a huge fire and an BAD accident during normal working hours and for giggles, you were having a massive heart attack. Would you feel you could recieve the proper care in a timely manner? And it doesn't matter how many fires a year Salisbury has, it only takes the right circumstances for loss of life.

Anonymous said...

Sadly, this has been going on for quite some time. not only A/C units, but anything with wiring, copper plumbing, and metal in general. Abandoned housing, houses under construction, you name it. The farmers have been brutally injured financially with their irrigation systems. And yes, this has been reported by several different news outlets. My employer was the victim of four commercial exterior units being stolen in one night. The insurance paid the claim, we installed "kennels" around the new units and vastly increased the lighting in the area. That being said, a pellet gun can negate the additional lighting in a flash. The kennels can be rendered useless almost as fast as they are ground level. It is mere a deterrent. If they want it, they will get it. And yes, we had to file our own report with the police.

JoeAlbero said...

anonymous 12:21, well, why don't you ask the Volunteers in other communities that don't have paid Firefighters like Pittsville, Powelville, Parsonsburg and so forth.

Are you suggesting THEY do not care about LIFE?

As far as saving people, it is a well known FACT that Police Officers save more lives in fires than Firefighters, with all due respect. They are the first responders, so I'm not buying your BS.

I'm guessing you happen to think Volunteers aren't as good as paid Firefighters. I'd rather have someone who WANTS to be there than someone who HAS to be there.

It's funny how you bring up Obama. Anyone with an ounce of sense hates Obama. He's a loser. He's done nothing productive his entire life, something you obviously don't want to hear. Politicians like Obama deserve no respect. The liars need blogs like this to expose them and their misdeeds smashed and rubbed in their faces.

Serious comment:

Perhaps we should have a waiting period for scrap sales concerning,

1) acceptance of items

2) payment for items

3) background check of those seeking to sell the item

Make the regulation fit the high grab items being stolen, not an old refrig or washer.

This type of theft is only attractive because someone is willing to pay with very few questions asked.

1:07-I think there are some sort of safeguards already in place. The problem becomes not all recyclers are on the up and up.
This reminds me of something I saw the other day. Going down West Line Rd in Selbyville I saw a beat up old pickup hauling a trailer w/ whatever was in the back of it covered with a blue tarp. I thought it strange because what was in there that needed to be covered? Who covers stuff in a trailer like that with a tarp? 2 white guys were in the truck.

Joe: Do you know what is really sad about this - even if they catch the thief (highly unlikely) we are still screwed. Most likely slap on the wrist, short sentences, plea bargains. Nobody wants to do their jobs anymore: Mayor, police chief, police department, state's attorney office as far as I'm concerned they are all a joke. No leadership! As a business owner in Salisbury our AC units sit right outside our business but we have video cameras, but it sounds like that won't stop them either. A really sad state of affairs in this community.

12:21 Lower Merion Township is not a small community. Almost double the size of Salisbury with a major highway (I-76), a river (schuykill), 2 rail lines including Amtrak and regional passenger lines, 5 colleges, 2 hospitals, hi rise office buildings and multi million dollars homes. All protected by volunteer fireman. It amazes me that people who have never left the shore or bothered to educate themselves know so much about what works and what doesn't. Oh, they also have very low taxes.

There isn't an officer on the city police force that can pull a decent print from even a pane of glass. Incompetent boobs.

This police chief has a gadget fetish. A grant for this a grant for that and still solve no crimes. To prevent this kind of theft takes routine patrols.

There is no way commercial units were removed from a second floor rooftop without somebody seeing something, IF they did routine patrols.

Maybe some good ole redneck vigilante justice is what some of these deadbeats need. Dead you say? I didn't see a thing!

These damn come heres come and tell us how to do and run things and issues like this happen. A lot of the natives here on the shore are educated enough and know that suburban areas like Merion do well with vollies. I'd rather have a volunteer crew come to my house than these wannabe fire guys. How many paid salisbury fire dept. employees does it take to get hardware? Apparently a whole hook and ladder crew from station 2. Saw these guys at Rommels Ace yesterday afternoon walking through the store with their thumbs up their ass.

Give it a rest with the "come here" crap. You sound just like Obama blaming Bush. Maybe the reason there is unworthiness in your local government is because of the "born heres". The fire chief is not a "come here" neither is Barrie Tilghman or Ireton. Are Shields, Mitchell or Day "come heres?" Which "come heres" do you have a problem with?

8:21, You gave me a good laugh. Comparing me to Obummer blaming Bush. The real reason for the unworthiness in our local government is people like you. Someone like you who is to damned dumb to take your blinders off and too damned stupid to take votes to the poll and vote against these idiots. Oh, thats right you probably voted them in. I have a problem with everyone above that you mentioned. But people like you are to busy drinking the kool aid and smoking dope like your President and Governor. I was born and raised here, and I stand up for my morals and beliefs, and I take that to the poll. People like you are to lazy and sucking off of the government's tit makes me sick. Maybe if you jump in the trenches like the rest of us, maybe you can help change the course of our local, state, and federal government. But, thats right because you probably don't give a rats ass about what goes on, and complain and gripe about it when something you think is not right or fair. And by the way, go back to what shithole you crawled out of.

This is 2:12 and I am not a come here but rather a left here. The crime, taxes, laws and the inability of people to do anything but complain about how bad things are and still do nothing to change it are some of the reasons I longer live in Wicomico county. I love the eastern shore and still own several properties there including a beautiful waterfront home that I visit from time to time. The issue of this post is the theft of A/C units but someone interjected that Salisbury could not be adequately protected by volunteers. I simply pointed out that there a much communities that are cover very well by volunteer FDs and that people should think/research/educated themselves before opening their Natural Light hole. I just happen to be familiar with the area and do not live there either. We can agree that volunteers are very good firemen but naming calling doesn't help your case any.

Your rant couldn't be more wrong or filled with lies than if your name was Obama. I have voted in every election since I was 18 years old. I have never in my life collected any type of welfare or gotten anything in life for "free". To sit there and blame everything on the "come heres" is absurd. That is a common problem with this area. You can't out do others so you put them down. I love the shore and have been here longer than where I grew up. We moved here to get away from people such as you. You would rather belittle someone that you know nothing about. You just assume. You know what they say about people that assume. It's not the "come heres" that voted the likes of Tilghman and Ireton into the positions that they held. If you so hate the "comes heres" why in the hell are you here? Maybe you should jump over to the fatmans blog and join the other "come heres"

10:31, you are a lucky one to leave here. Way things are happening here is more or less the inept and inadequate policing we have in Salisbury. IF more taxpayers funds went to hire more police officers, and have the equipment, discipline, and respect necessary, I believe Salisbury's Crime Rate would dramatically drop. BUT, Ireton, Duncan, and SFD is to busy buying toys, and not getting anything accomplished. SBY has got a fireboat we don't need. We have a multimillion dollar fire house that sits of a cranberry bog. We have crime skyrocketing through the roof while our officers are struggling every day with hardly any support. I believe the reason for the high crime in Salisbury is because of a flood of rental properties. Salisbury's housing stock is over 70 % rentals. Entire sections of the city like Church St., Princeton, Smith St. and Doverdale "Jungle" ARE OVER RUN WITH RENTALS. By no surprise those are Salisbury's highest rated crime areas. Most renters have no vested interest in their neighborhoods or the homes they live in. Its a vicious cycle of move in, run down, destroy and move on. If the city leaders are serious about the crime within, they would take a closer look at the rental situation at hand.

Anonymous said...

Well said, Mark. Any city that has over 50-60% rentals is a city plagued by crime and neglected properties. Does anyone ever wash a rental car? If you don't own something you really have no incentive to take care of it, and transient populations are known for high crime rates.

Anonymous said...

How are you supposed to solve the "renter" problem? Give them the houses so they own them now? Sounds like redistribution to me. Don't the landlords who own the homes have incentive to take care of them?

JoeAlbero said...

anonymous 10:29 and others, mark my words on this. Because the economy is so bad and the cost of sending a child/children to college has become so expensive, many young Americans are now choosing to attend college ON LINE, including your new Fire Chief.

The money you will save is so overwhelming and the demand in America to have a degree, it won't be too many years from now where you'll see the majority of American students doing the same.

I tried explaining this to citizens while I was out campaigning and the fact that we need a forward thinking Mayor that can address such situations well in advance and start being proactive towards what is to come down the road.

That being said, SU and many other colleges are going to see a drop in students, at least those looking for housing. Hopefully they can sustain the volume they have now but in 10 to 15 years its going to become a massive problem with the real estate market and the massive volume of empty homes in the area.

Now think for just a moment. Have you heard anything of the sort from Ireton or Day, no. They are reactive people, not proactive people. They blame things like this on everything else, kinda like PRMC not preparing ahead of tie for Obamacare, like AGH did and others.

So if you think things are bad now, if you think your property value is too low, wait until ALL of these rental homes start flooding the market and really killing the real estate market. Businesses who are enjoying income from students will drop as well.

Yeah, it was your election to lose because what you have now will never prepare for the inevitable.

Anonymous said...

As long as the fire chief has a degree from an accredited agency what's the point. Millions of americans earn degrees online and nobody questions it. Its only when news surfaces of degrees handed out with no supporting documentation that they ever submitted a single paper.I seriously doubt the chief earned his degree completely online.

JoeAlbero said...

anonymous 12:00, for the record, I'm not knocking the Chief. He is just an example in my comment.

Does born here = idiot? said...

Oh my gosh, really, all you rental racists. I noticed that no one included all the high rental college neighborhoods as high crime, just the ghetto rental areas.
So you know for a fact that the criminals rented their homes....
I so get sick and tired of the narrow minded mantra this community spews.
I have lived, rented, the same home for 10 years. Lack of vested interest you say, bullcrap, this is my home for now, and I take pride in where I live.
I have a responsible home owner, but from what I see behind me, the problem lies with the irresponsible landlords.
Want people to own their homes? Give them a job with a livable wage. Hows that for a start. I have been unemployed for 4 months now and after applying for 100's, yes 100's of jobs, I get an offer for one that won't even pay enough to cover basic expenses, like rent, heat, water. So now I have to find a 2nd job. Are employers around here that stupid to think that someone can live on what they are paying? Oh I forgot, no you don't care as long as you can line your pockets, doesn't matter who's back you make your millions off of.
Look beyond your narrow minded mantra and try to see what the real problem is.
First the problem is the come here's then the problem is the renters.....blame blame blame.
How did you get in this situation?
How did you allow it to happen?
Why is it the governments problem to solve?
Most college communities are high rental. Do any of you read or do research before you speak?
No wonder your community if sinking.
What a bunch of rubes.

Well anon 1230. I've lived here all my life and always owned my home. Your attitude is most likely why your unemployed and wont work for what you feel is"Below You". People on the eastern shore are only stupid by your perception. Its a simple as if you don't like it here then go back to where you came from. Not sure where that is or really care. I can answer all your questions and believe me I've done my research. The neighborhoods I declined to mention, but you eluded to have their fair share of crime with drunken, disrespectful college students. Theft, vandalism, drugs, drinking binges and howling at the moon all hours of the night. "Come Here" you can go back there.

Is that the best you got Mark B?
Who said I didn't take the job.
I do not recall saying the job was beneath me.
My attitude? What, I think before I speak? I know my worth and skill set? Imagine that..... how unhireable, yup Markie, we in Smallbury only hire simpletons.
Unemployed - I didn't realize the company closing we solely my fault.
Same ole same ole comeback from you narrow small minded dolts. Talkin smack out yer arse, making crap up as you go along.

You gotta do better than that.

You mention you can answer all the questions, but I notice, as usual, you do not.

Ya see, Joe made comment about housing and when the sale of rentals flood the market.

Well Rubie, ya see the college already one upped this backwards community by building their own housing. Rubie, they can't even sell the rentals that are already on the market, no one is buying them.

So answer my questions Mark B. You're the one who said you had the answers.

Hi Joe,

I work for a management company and our HUGE heat/air units were also taken from the rooftop of a very busy strip mall. They were taken from the back and of course no one saw a thing. BUT, we talked with someone with the Sheriffs Dept and they looked at names of persons showing up at the scrap yard around the dates of the thefts and low and behold, a sub-contractor for one of our business' kept showing up and the items scraped were parts belonging to these ac/heat units. They were also able to get him on the units stolen from the gas stations on snowhill road and the one on Camden. These thieves want their money now, so they are not gonna hold onto the stuff, and you have to give an ID to scrap it (from what I understand) Just a thought.

I just added up the calls for the sheriffs office , it seems they responded to over 65% of the calls in Salisbury city. What's up with that?
I think they have the same amount of officers.
Maybe they are young and don't have the experience.

Color coded street signs indicate who responds.

Could not find another place to post this but a friend of mine, who is an avid Criminal Minds TV show fan, told me that on last nights show, they actually used Salisbury, Maryland, Wicomico County as the scene. She was impressed that they actually said the city and county names right. It was not filmed here of course but we were mentioned.

The crime rate is a true indicator of the lack of common sense leadership at the top of our city government. But then again why should we expect anything any different because the very top office of our city government practices an immoral lifestyle and has no moral compass whatsoever? The mayor is a true reflection of the degradation that is slowly tearing away at the very fiber that built America. His unprofessionalism (as demonstrated with Ms. Chambers) and his temperament are a true disgrace to this community and his lifestyle is an abomination. I know he is a pathetic, rude and immoral person but what does that say about the community who voted him into office? We are much better than that.

Oh no this can't be true. The local real estate agents will tell you houses are going up in value here in Salisbury and its a great place to live. Ha!!!!

Get over it, it happens, it's not a perfect world........Had my house broken into a couple of yrs ago while I was at work and live out in the country, never caught them, but I am now locked and now loaded.....I don't point the blame at anyone......

My goodness , thank the good LORD I don't dwell in the city.
I have to come here for my cancer doctor , or maybe the dentist.
With this new health care stuff , I might be heading to the grave prematurely . I'm so tired of this stuff , it's so easy to be good and honest.
The devil has gotten his way in this city!( I might add ,the whole country).

IMO as a "come here" from 20 years ago, I can say this, never underestimate a "born here" or you might be in for a surprise.I was, and have learned a lot from several locals.

On the subject of the thefts, I can say I've seen a few people skinning wire in my neighborhood over the last 5 years. I'd report it, but I don't think anything will happen.

Was the show about TJ Leggs, child sexual predator and murderer?

What would you report? A lot of people collect wire, and when they have enough, they 'skin' it or burn it to cash it in. That doesn't necessarily make them thieves.

Now if you see them do it from a large spool, that would be suspicious. Regardless, I hope you're not one of my neighbors. But I doubt it.

We have no crime in my area, people are friendly, keep to themselves mostly and mind their own business.
