Do not forget the call for service at the corner of Market St. & Main St.

Blessed to have career farmin. said...

Also numerous calls for service at local gdocery stores and fast food joints. We, the citizens of Salisbury, should consider ourselves lucky to have 3 career staffed fire engines most of the time. Glad we are not in New York,Boston, Miami, San Grancisco where there citizens are subjected daily to the threat of grocery store and fast food joint fires and conflagrations. Thank you farmin of the SFD.

What does farming have to do with it? Oh you want to thank our local farmers for growing all our food? That is so good of you. And those other cites you listed do not have many farms.

Without a doubt the daily ritual of disrespectful comments toward firefighters upsets many. One might believe that the masses share these beliefs but that is not the case. In communities across America firefighter are respected and appreciated for all they do for us. I pray that none of your readers ever have an emergency where you need to dial 911. Please put aside your differences and show some respect. Thank you.

We are not talking about communities across America we are talking about the Salisbury Fire Department and it's poor leadership with poor and disrespectful employees. We are also talking about a poor mayor and council who refuses to do anything about this mismanagement of our tax dollars.

We do respect our volunteer more than you can imagine. You must be a paid fireman.

1109, you are correct! All across America. Unfortunately, here in Salisbury, things are the opposite, as paid firefighters thumb their collective noses at their tax paying public by wearing out the City's fine equipment with DAILY joy rides and DAILY use as lunch taxis, thereby making the whole department undeserving of the least amount of respect.

I don't care if you're a volly or paid; if you are participating in this, you earn no respect.

I too would like to thank farmers. We need more fine farmers and less backyard garden's.

We don't need firefighters , we need more medics . Heck , haven't seen a fire on the blog yet.
I like those firefighters with all the tattoos . They look rough and tuff and all that stuff. They sure have plenty of time to get decorated with those tattoos.
Jaws of life , Ha! Ha!.

Maybe some of you should get out more. Last time I checked Engine and Truck companies go to the store to shop for meals everyday. Each fireman pays into the meal fund every shift and then one company in the house goes shopping after breakfast. We eat 3 meals each shift and shop everyday, by the way I work in DC so we have 33 companies at the store all over the city daily.

Proud to serve for FREE said...

Well,we are not in D.C. thank the Lord. Pack you meals every day, or have one person take a utility vehicle to the store. By the way, I see vehicles every day "training and preplanning" at various sub, fast food, grocery stores, and other venues. Why is Truck 2 constantly down by SU at lunch time? What would happen if there was a fire at the State Police barracks? I guess we would have to depend on the volunteers of Delmar to extinguish it!!!

This is the best post I have seen yet.

I heard Jim Beau and Tommy Boi love those Jaws of Life as well!!

Hey 6:50 PM the volunteers of Delmar would smoke most of the paid men in Salisbury.

I believe DC ended the fiscal year of 2012 with a $417 million budget surplus, that's far from broke! This site and it's readers have compared Salisbury to cities such as DC when talking about crime many times, so what suits your agenda is ok and when it doesn't you respond with "this is not DC". It appears some narrow minded or uninformed stalk the comment section looking to spew hate and/or jealousy towards the Salisbury Fire Department.

That's what the news says so why isn't any of that money being spent on the fire department. Ambulances breaking down and EMS understaffed and underpaid. Sounds like Salisbury doesn't it.
