The Website Is Fixable, Obamacare Isn’t

Since Obamacare made its debut, discussions have focused on Ted Cruz’ efforts to defund the law and the shockingly bad functionality of the Website itself. Fortunately for Obama, polling indicates that Senator Cruz has lost, at least for now, the battle for hearts and minds. The President has not been nearly so lucky on the technological front. If current trends continue, the rollout may go down as the worst major product launch in history. But given the government’s enormous resources, it’s safe to say that the site itself will ultimately be fixed. But when it is finally up and running, the plan’s many deeper, and more intractable, flaws will come into focus. That’s when the fun will really begin.

Put simply the program is built on a mountain of false assumptions and is covered by a terrain of unanticipated incentives. Any cleared-eyed observer should conclude that it is perfectly designed to raise the costs of care and wreck the federal budget. However, like just about every other complicated problem that bedevils the nation, the public has become far too caught up in the politics and has ignored the horrific details.

Obamacare is nothing more than a massive Communist style redistribution of wealth from middle class earners/workers to non workers/non earners. It is a tax to prop up a low class low information/comprehension Democrat voter base of leeches.
Ironically the plan has a clause that states Unions and collective bargaining insurance plans may be changed yet still retain the grandfathered exemption so they may keep their insurance when private insurance holders can not keep their plans.
Again, payola for Democratic support.
MORE importantly, Funding for "navigators" has been funneled to Unions and Civic groups like the NAACP to include voter registration during sign up, Most of which will be enrolling in taxpayer subsidized medicaid.
This is a SCAM. A scheme by Alinsky Democrats to further the Marxist ideology in America.

Ready for that single payer system? That is what is headed our way...start practicing your bow and "hail to the supreme benevolent leader"...remember, everything Hitler did was "legal" too.....

It is great to see the impacts of this law are finally being felt by those that voted for it (by electing and reelecting this foreign communist)!

Maybe there is just enough time for us to collectively vote some good representatives in to DC to fix this mess.....

You have not seen anything yet.. 12:19 you are correct it carves out the Unions and some special interests and allows them to keep their existing plans. The problem is that the insurance companies will not be able to afford to offer those plans moving forward because the current structure allowed the Insurance companies to subsidize those plans and that structure is gone. The Administration can blame the insurance companies and here comes Socialized Medicine - single payer system. This is just one of the drivers that the public doesn't understand yet.

Funny, the same folks that want hands off Social Security, Medicare and Military healthcare call AFA socialism?? Really, really dumb.

8:50-You really really need to educate yourself. SS and Medicare by anyone's stretch of the imagination cannot be considered "socialism."
An aspect of socialism is redistribution of wealth. As far as SS and Medicare, payouts are based on what a person contributes. VA benefits, same tit for tat concept.
FYI-Food stamps, Medicaid, Section 8 and welfare are examples of socialism.
Spreading misinformation may work with the low info crowd 8:50 but it ain't going to work around here.
Got it?

9:17 thank you. Now where do I find 8:50 to give him a much needed kick in the pants?

9:17 I wouldn't be calling out other people on their facts when you have no grasp. Medicare is not based on what you put into it. It is a single payer, socialism based system that people love.

Medicare is NOT single payer 1:18.
Just to enlighten you here is the definition of a single payer system-
"Single-payer is a term used to describe a type of financing system. It refers to one entity acting as administrator, or "payer." In the case of health care, a single-payer system would be set up such that one entity-a government-run organization-would collect all health care fees, and pay out all health care costs…. individuals would receive no bills, and copayment and deductibles would be eliminated."

THIS IS WHAT SINGLE PAYER MEANS. SO BY NO ONE'S STRETCH OF THE IMAGINATION IS MEDICARE SINGLE
PAYER. WHEN SOMEONE REACHES THE AGE TO ENROLL IN MEDICARE THERE ARE ATLEAST 2 SOMETIMES 3 ENTITIES PAYING THE BILL INCURRED-MEDICARE-THE INDIVIDUAL AND SOMETIMES SUPPLEMENTAL INSURANCE.

Do you know what single payer means 9:17? It's not rocket science really and means just what it says-single payer. One and one only (which means single) individual, insurance company or the government is paying the cost of someone's healthcare. Medicare does not pay all medical bills exclusively. In extreme poverty cases Medicaid does but even that is supposed to work with services being paid for with a small fee coming from elsewhere.
Canada is an example of single payer. The government pays 100% of all healthcare related expenses.

1:18-If you haven't contributed to Medicare you have to pay for it, so it is based on contributions.
I don't think people love it. It's more like they are stuck with it. We personally have always just kept our private insurance and paid higher premiums. It's all the difference in the world esp if and when someone gets older and infirmed. Medicare throws you in hospice, drugs you up and dehydrates you to death. Private insurance allows you to enter what some hospitals refer to as the "Gold Coast" a specialty wing devoted to terminal patients. These patients spend their dying days in comfort as opposed to being dehydrated and starved to death.

No Medicare is not single payer. Medicare Part A, you have to pay a deductible. So it's not single since 2 entities-Medicare and the individual are paying.
Part B-You do contribute because you pay a monthly fee plus a deductible, again not a single entity paying.
Part C (Advantage)-Partnership between private insurance companies and Medicare and once again you contribute by paying a premium. Co-pays and deductibles vary according to plans purchased.

Medicare Part B costs $104 a month which is deducted from your SS check if you get one, otherwise you pay out of pocket.

Not single payer nor "socialism based." Socialism is when those who contribute are also paying for those who don't. Medicare is funded by SS. FICA-Federal Insurance Contribution Act. 2.9% total-1/2 paid by employee other 1/2 by employer. IF you haven't contributed to FICA you have to pay a premium for Medicare.
I highly doubt that most knowledgeable people "love" Medicare. Most informed persons would much rather keep their own private insurance exclusively. While some can and do forego Medicare, a lot of people bite the bullet so to speak and sign on to Medicare to lower their monthly insurance premiums since they have spent almost a lifetime contributing to Medicare.
