I live in that surrounding neighborhood and have watched it steadily go down hill for years.
They drug deal on corners, in parking lots, in front yards, on the street. They don't even hide it anymore.

Here are my thoughts, for what it's worth.
I find it absolutely amazing how crime and gangs have been kept out of the spotlight for so many years in Salisbury.
This Mayor and the former Mayor has, (and still has) complete control over the City. People like Jake Day create Websites like SBY whatever it is or the "bury" to try to create positive things about the area, (because that's what liberals do) and when someone like me comes around and creates a Website that tells the TRUTH and shows images/pictures to PROVE it to be factual and true, local leaders and organizations do everything in their powers to defame me or shut me down.
The bottom line is, it has always been Salisbury News that has brought the gang issue and crime issue to the forefront and as usual, we have always been accurate and right.
If you Obama/O'malley and O'Ireton fans want to continue believing whatever they tell you, so be it. In the mean time there is and has been ONE Website out there telling you the truth for the past 9 years.
Crime, drugs and gangs are a very serious problem. This Mayor wants to harp on a pile of crushed concrete and a business sign the City agreed to allow in the first place.
Heck, even yesterday I saw Police Chief Barbara Duncan being driven around Downtown by an Officer. Now she has a driver. Could it be because she too is to afraid of cruising her own turf on her own?
Nothing has changed. The crime is still a major problem. Gangs have only become bigger, yet everyone wants to say what a great job the Police Department is doing. My guess is, IF you actually saw the real numbers and not the BS program where Safe Streets lowers the crime rates to make it look as if crime is actually lower, you'd probably be blown away.
As I have always said, "It was your election to lose". You'll NEVER know the TRUTH unless you get someone like me in the Mayor's Office. Until then, LOCK AND LOAD and protect yourselves.

I only wish I could sell my house and get away from this place. I moved here over 30 years ago when it was a great place to settle down and raise a family - not anymore. Problem is my house has lost so much value so I would be starting all over again IF i could even sell my house at all! Salisbury EMS being dispatched for a stabbing. Patient in a vehicle at South Salisbury Blvd and Milford Street. Fruitland PD on the scene. Paramedic 16 is responding. Assistant Chief 1 is responding. Engine 16-1 is responding with 21D and 5(Six paid Firemen). Fruitland PD holding pressure on the stabbing to the chest. Assistant Chief 1 on the scene 20D has command(20D is a lieutenant so how is he commanding an assistant chief position). So that is at least 9 fire department staffing for on simple stab wound to the chest? Am I missing something here. At least 9 paid firemen and at least one Fruitland police officer providing emergency care. Ten paid people on a simple stabbing that 2 qualified paramedics on one ambulance could have handled easily. Six paid firemen on one fire truck and I am sure they all stood around watching because 9 paid firemen can't fit in that car or the back of he ambulance. WOW! Thanks Jim Ireton for raping the tax payers again and this sounds like it might have been Fruitland's problem and not Salisbury's

I wasn't impressed with the song, but the video itself was pretty good from a technical viewpoint. Other than that, I don't want to get into it except to say it's a shame there are very few jobs left on the Shore that offer decent pay and hours. The kids that might have wanted to do something constructive with their time no longer have that option.

Look, it's very simple. Jim is doing what Jim does best, photo ops and making it look like he's doing something. However, everything Jim does has a grant involved from the state or he looks angry because he's fed up with insignificant things.

here is the funny part about all of this. these guys made a crappy rap and video to post on youtube which might have gotten a cpl hundred hits. i mean really this video would have been lucky to get a cpl hundred hits at most . along comes someone in the media and sees the video and notices it was made in Salisbury and omg they look to be holding guns. multi media outlets grab on and make a story out of it. like there isn't 50,000 other rap videos on youtube with rappers with guns in the video.now with all the attention the video has upwards of 12,000 hits and is inspiring others to make videos as well.
you see people its kinda like school shootings in a sense. you have one school shooting in the 90s national media grabs ahold of the story and runs with it giving the shooter way to much media attention for days on in. troubled teens see all the attention the kid got. now what do you have ? school shootings have become the norm.
the simple fact is if the media wouldn't have made a story out of this the video might have pulled a cpl hundred hits at best. now that the the video has all this attention and bolstered all most 12,ooo hits you have inspired more of our youth to make videos to get the attention they desire.

It's time for the States Attorney to make a stand here and put the Salisbury Police on alert for not doing their job. All of the kids in the video should have been arrested by now which is in line with Maryland's new gun laws. A school kicked a kid out of school because he chewed a pop tart in the shape of a gun. Looks like a double standard here.
Several of these 'musicians' are on probation (imagine that!) Drugs, weapons, theft (imagine that!) Oh and paternity suits (imagine that!)
