Soft contacts can scratch your eye. People injure their eyes more with soft contact than with any of the other types of lenses. If you wear a hard contact and it has a crack or defect in it you take it out because it HURTS. With soft contacts it usually a minor irritation and people don't remove them and end up damaging their eyes. Contacts have to be fitted for the individual. They are not a one size fits all type of thing.
