OCPD Press Release

OCPD Loses Two Dedicated and Courageous Officers

It is with great sadness that the Ocean City Police Department confirms that two of our police officers were the victims in yesterday’s plane crash in Ocean City. Both officers were very dedicated and courageous both on and off duty. Their love of life was clearly demonstrated in their professional and personal pursuits. They exemplified the finest character and their passing is a tremendous loss to the Ocean City Police Department family. As we deal with this difficult time, we ask that you respect the privacy of their families and peers. Maryland State Police and Federal Aviation Authorities continue to handle the investigation. When the time is appropriate, we will release more information about our officers and their distinguished service to the community.

It's interesting how controlled information flows out of Ocean CIty. Just the day before, there was a shooting by a visitor at 2AM that took forever to show up in the news. Many people aren't aware that the 2 people responsible for that just got off the OC bus. Think about that.... your fellow passengers may be crooks and they may be packing. while riding the OC bus. What's next?

The Route 50 bridge into OC that stuck open this weekend was also outside the radar.

7:49 don't know where you believe you are getting your info but you are way off base on the shooting suspects.

aside from attacking him, what do you offer to counter him?

7:49-I saw the shooting info posted online in the news when I got up on Sat morning just after
7. Not sure what you interpret "forever" to be but I don't think 5 hrs is unreasonable.

If I remember reading correctly, the second suspect wasn't caught until 5 something that morning. I too knew about the shooting before 8am in the morning from online news sites. I don't feel that 5 hrs after the start of the incident and 2 hrs after last suspect was caught can hardly be considered forever.
As far as they may have been on the bus, I think everyone all the time anywhere, should always assume that something may be amiss anywhere they go, public transportation included, and be aware of their surroundings.
I don't really need to be told that crooks who may be packing might be around because I'm sure they are.
