Georgetown, DE- Delaware State Police detectives have arrested a Lewes man in connection with allegedly raping a 14 year old female.

On Friday June 28, 2013, detectives at Troop 4 in Georgetown began a rape investigation after a 14 year old girl disclosed to the Division of Family Services on Thursday that she had been involved in a sexual relationship withFrederick H. Massey Jr., 55 of Lewes. The investigation revealed, the two had met in October 2012 while the victim was working at a local kennel south of Milton. As the months passed, the two communicated through text messages and then in February 2013, Massey kissed her on the lips. The relationship continued and in March of 2013, Massey engaged in inappropriate sexual behavior with the 14 year old while parked in a wooded area near Redden Forest.

Frederick Massey was contacted at his residence Friday afternoon and was transported back to Troop 4 where he was processed and arraigned on the above listed charges. He was committed to SCI on $129,000.00 cash bond.

Because of the sensitivity of this case, and in consideration of the victim, only limited information will be released.
