Upgrades are on the way in the Washington, D.C. region in an effort to keep drinking water clean and the Chesapeake Bay less toxic.
The Maryland Board of Public Works on Wednesday approved more than $65 million for improvements to the state's water and sewage systems.
The counties that will receive funding include Prince George's, Calvert, Frederick, St. Mary's, Wicomico, Allegany, Baltimore and Montgomery.

I see more General Obligation Bonds are going to be offered by the State of Maryland - (475 million dollars)- to help fund Salisbury's WWT plant upgrade. It looks as though Salisbury/Wicomico is going to get $1,039,000 of this bond money. So where is the other 30 or so million needed to fully implement the upgrades going to come from?
I sure hope that Maryland doesn't end up like so many of the other failing municipalities -(i.e. Detroit, MI, Stockton, San Bernadino, CA. or Valeos, CA., or Jefferson, AL, and many many more.
Too bad we need all 65 million. Even worse, if we had the money, I've not heard that Salisbury even has a plan on how to fix the problems we have! If there is no business plan, we'll never be able to raise the money for repairs; even with a "rain tax".
Didn't Salisbury previously receive BNR funds why are they getting funds twice?
