Twenty two out of 24 fire engine calls were medical assists. None of them required a fire truck response.

Call 23 an appliance fire. Unplug it, problem solved.

Call 24 a false fire alarm activation. No need to respond.

What a waste of man power, fuel and wear and tear on $500,000 fire engines.

This is what they call JOB SECURITY for paid firemen.

If indeed assistance was needed on those ambulance calls wouldn't it make more sense to send another ambulance to the call with experienced paramedics?

You douche bag...your so good with numbers what about the two mvcs ? And an appliance fire can get out of hand quickly .

So unplugging an oven immediately extinguishes the fire? And they probably dispatched the alarm as being a false alarm?? No need to investigate right?

These are all calls EMS and Fire. Not these calls did the engine go on. It is a running tally of all the calls. Some were answered by ambulances some by engines and some by both. If you have questions please ask do not assume. Stop by or call and please ask. We are all crossed trained doing both EMS and Fire.

Interesting info; a month's worth would be more illuminating.

Suggestion: Leave street names in but delete specific address info. Someone may be in hospital and it might make their home vulnerable.

The two MVC's are medical calls and don't require a fire engine. Was there a car fire? It's an EMS call not a fire call.

Now who is the DOUCHE BAG!!

Joe you should put in the title "Salisbury Fire Department" and not "SFD." I thought they were SPD calls.

Why is there "no need" to respond on an alarm activation? They didn't know it was a false alarm until they investigated it-----IDIOT!

This guy is dangerous and should not be employed by the City. I don't want him responding to my emergency.

Nature: Automatic AlarmAddress: 2300 N Salisbury Blvd Salisbury, MD 21801

In case you didn't know 2300 North Salisbury Blvd is the Centre of Salisbury Mall. They have people that work in the stores. They have a fire sprinkler system. They have security that confirms it's a false alarm. There is no danger and most departments turn around when they are advised it is a false alarm.

Why the mean spirited tone anyway? Who's the idiot? Another dangerous employee of the Salisbury Fire Department.

It's obvious the need is for paid paramedics and not paid firemen. The paid fireman outnumber the paramedics 7 to 1. Who is the fire chief? Does he or her even have and EMS experience on the ambulance?

and we need this information why?Apparently the Salisbury Fire Department is doing the job they are suppose to, that is unless none of these calls were answered.

What exactly is your gripe with the fire company really about to make you to trash them daily?

Did you ever go to school to learn proper grammar?

The fire department is costing Salisbury tax payers millions annually and you are obviously not a city tax payer.

At least 7 of those calls didn't need a 911 emergency ambulance.

WTH is a psychiatric emergency anyway and why can't they be transported by a family member?

What a waste of resources and tax dollars.

How many of those calls did Rick Hoppes and John Tull respond on in their brand new Ford Explorers?

In what way do MVC's not require a fire response? the medic units that are responding are only responsible for the patients involved in the accident. medic units do not carry absorbent for fluid spills, extrication equipment for removing any trapped patients, or brooms for for removing debris from the roadway. also when a truck or engine is on scene they are "shadowing" the emergency scene and blocking traffic to keep all the personnel on scene safe from other drivers on the roadway

It is a conspiracy with the paramedics. Look at what ems qualifications the fire officers are. Most are paramedics. Years ago they wanted to find a way off the ambulance. They merged the fire and EMS sides of the department and now are running the department. I think it is time to do away with EMS in the city. Hart to Hart can transported the sick and the injured for a fee.
