DelDOT Urges Safe & Smart Holiday Travel This Weekend

Dover -- The Department of Transportation (DelDOT) reminds motorists to anticipate heavier than normal traffic on Delaware's highways beginning on Friday, May 24.

Planned lane closures on Delaware's major roadways, Route 1, I-95, and U.S. Route 202 will be suspended beginning on Friday, May 24 until midnight on Monday, May 27. Traffic accidents and other unpredictable types of transportation incidents may cause lane closures and/or delays.

DelDOT's Transportation Management Center (TMC) will provide continuous monitoring of traffic conditions across the state. Our radio station, WTMC-1380AM offers motorists real-time traffic information throughout Delaware. Motorists can contact the TMC 24/7 to report any travel or traffic related issues at the following numbers: Dial #77 from any cell phone; (302) 659-4600 or 1-800-324-8379.

Motorists can adjust their routes or travel times by using DelDOT's Smartphone application. The DelDOT App is available for Apple & Android smart phones and tablets, and can be downloaded free at the Apple and Google Play stores.
