The incident occurred around 3:30 p.m. yesterday afternoon as Logan T. Roe was operating a 1998 Pontiac Grand Prix westbound on Asbury Road one half mile west of Raccoon Ditch Road. As Roe approached a sharp left curve in the road, he failed to negotiate the curve and left the north side of the roadway. The impact of the crash caused the car to spin in a counter clockwise direction before coming to a stop in a densely wooded area.
Logan T. Roe, who was properly restrained, was pronounced dead at the scene.
An 18 year old female passenger, who was properly restrained, was removed from the scene by EMS and transported to Nanticoke Memorial Hospital where she was treated and released with non-life-threatening injuries.
The Collision Reconstruction Unit is continuing their investigation into this incident. Asbury Road was closed for approximately three hours as the crash was investigated and cleared.
