BERLIN -- The Berlin Fire Company (BFC) turned out in force at Tuesday’s meeting to petition the Mayor and Council to enter third-party mediation to resolve ongoing dispute and to restore the roughly $600,000 funding stripped from the fire company earlier this year.
While the council said future mediation is possible, there are a number of conditions the town wants resolved before ever sitting down at a table with BFC leadership. However, even if funding is restored, the council has hinted that things will never go back to exactly the way they were.
“That mutual trust and respect will have to be earned,” Mayor Gee Williams told BFC members, associates and supporters at Tuesday night’s meeting.

This Berlin Mayor and Council is starting to sound like a bunch of children. They need to get over their compulsive need to show off. They think they are being cute and clever and in the meantime an important part of the public's safety is hanging in limbo.
"At one point, Amy Williams accused Councilwoman Lisa Hall of not taking the discussion seriously and demanded to know the specific contents of notes Hall was exchanging with other council members. Hall eventually left the room in a frustrated manner and did not return to council chambers"
So let's see-Hall in Berlin, Ireton and Mitchell in Sby and Cymek and Knight in OC-walk out whenever they feel like it. They all do think they are being cute when in reality they look like a bunch of morons who do need to start acting like adults if they can.
ditto as to 11:38
basically it is the Mayor talking--the Council has not said anything and one Council member walked out of the meeting
same as they have done with the farmers market--tried to bully their way around
congrats to the fire company officers and members for standing up to them as the farmers market did
Wannabe Farmin are nothing but a bunch of cry babies. The county should take over.the fire department.

I agree. Wicomico County and Worcester County should both take over Emergency Medical Services instead of letting some backwoods volunteer hillbilly's run the service at the tax payers expense.
