Mercurochrome. Under Scotland's wonderful national healthcare system, who will practically only prescribe drugs if you are dying because they are free recommends Mercurochrome for toenail fungus.
My grandfather had permanently red toes for a year before realizing it comes in a clear form. Finally after a visit here, we went to a doctor who prescibed the proper medicine and it was finally cured.
Aahh! Visions of my youth!

Burned like FIRE, and contained mercury.
It got the job done though.
Wasn't there something called Methioliate? (or close to that) It was also red & came in a little bottle with a dropper tip.
