The 11 News I-Team has discovered that a former senior manager with the State Highway Administration who resigned following accusations he solicited money from firms doing business with the state has been rehired by the Department of Transportation.
Acting on a tip to the state's fraud, waste and abuse hotline, auditors concluded the actions of Mark Flack potentially violated state ethics laws, a governor's executive order and SHA policies.
Citing a lawsuit filed against them by Flack, state officials will not discuss why they gave him another transportation job.
