Generally, U.S. Naval Academy alumni don’t support abortion, are less enthusiastic about same-sex marriage and believe affirmative action is unfair, according to a college-rankings guide called The Alumni Factor.
Answers from more than 200 one-time graduates of the Naval Academy placed the Annapolis school as the fourth most conservative out of 177 ranked by The Alumni Factor. The academy placed three spots behind the Air Force Academy, which was ranked the most conservative in the nation.
The political leanings of the schools’ alumni were based on responses to 20 questions — including gay marriage, racial profiling, abortion rights, and government-funded health care.
