BOOBUS RICHUS GOVERNMENT UNIONUS

The statistics are truly staggering. Government employees make far more than you or I. There are more than 30 million public employees, and what they are making defies reason. They are unionized, and thus have immense lobbying power. Year after year, they make more money and get more benefits than anyone in the private sector could dream of. When you include teachers, some of whom are making $160,000 per year to teach drivers ed, and getting close to $7 million in total pensions while retiring at 50, the totals are beyond belief.
It doesn’t seem to matter what the economy, the deficit, or anything in the “real world” are doing, government employees keep making more money. Do we really need 30 million people working for the government? Do we really want our tax dollars diverted to unions, who support only democrats and spend millions on commercials and ads for democratic candidates? Do we really want to bail out unfunded government pensions totaling more than $1 trillion?
Where I live, half the buildings and many of the people work for the government. The USDA has a major presence. There are thousands of government employees, prison guards, and government minions of every size, shape and form. As I’ve stated, the new “must have” item for government employees these days are Mercedes Benz’. The parking lots are full of ‘em. You’d think we were in the Hamptons or something, instead of the poorest part of the state.
The State of Illinois is bankrupt and they don’t pay their bills, but their employees retire at 50 with massive pensions, which they get like clockwork. The Federal Government is also bankrupt, well, much worse, $16.2 trillion in debt. I don’t know what the answer to this problem is, but something needs to be done, to at least pay government workers what everyone else makes. The only problem is, government employees probably couldn’t get jobs anywhere else.
