John Delaney Was For Card Check Before He Was Against It

Frederick, MD - Last night at a debate in Frederick, Congressional candidate John Delaney unveiled his new strategy for explaining to the voters his support for legislation that would take away the right of American workers to a secret ballot in union organizing elections: deny his previously stated position.

 On multiple occasions last night, Delaney expressed his support for keeping the secret ballot in union organizing elections.  This may come as a shock to his union allies or anyone who read his position statement in his AFL-CIO questionnaire where he took the exact opposite position.  In case Mr. Delaney needs a quick refresher:

Question
If elected, would you co-sponsor and vote for the Employee Free Choice Act (H.R. 1409 and S. 1560 in the 111th Congress), a bill that would require employers to honor their workers’ decision to join a union after a majority of them signed a union authorization card or petition;

Delaney
YES.

Bartlett Campaign Manager Ted Dacey explains, “Just like in his business practices where John Delaney will do anything to make a buck, candidate John Delaney appears willing to take any position at any time that is politically expedient for him.  John Delaney point-blank denied his support for stripping away workers’ rights to a private ballot in union organizing election.  But unfortunately for Mr. Delaney, the record speaks for itself. He did take this position, and it’s right there in black and white.
