Job seekers: You have 10 minutes or fewer to woo.
That’s the median amount of time it takes hiring managers to form a positive or negative opinion of candidates during interviews, according to a survey released Tuesday by Accountemps.
The survey of 500 human resources managers at U.S. companies with 20 or more employees found that it takes six to 10 minutes for 42 percent of them to draw a conclusion about a candidate. Another 17 percent of the hiring managers said it takes them 16-20 minutes or less, while 16 percent said they need just five minutes to form an opinion.
