those fountains haven't worked in ages. Albero has a good plan. close off one entrance, charge a buck per visitor, eliminate the fat cat administrative waste.

Us kids used to drink out of garden hoses. Quit raising softies!

Can someone point me to where I can find the salaries for the employees of the Salisbury Zoo and the Delmarva Zoological Society?

DZS is separate and self funded correct? That is where Stacey and Cathy are paid from right?

Just trying to get all this info straight.

Water is probably cut off because it isn't fit to drink or they want people to buy soft drinks

Does it not work at all, or the water it gives is simply not refrigerated? Outdoor faucets like that are never refrigerated. Indoor ones protected from freezing usually are.

Any knowledge out there?

Amazing you can't go to the zoo prepared and bring cold water and snacks for the kiddies.

The fountains do not work at all.

I am guessing they are old and have lead pipes. Want your kids to have lead poisoning?

Is this post serious? I'm thinking it's definitely got to be a joke. First of all, who lets their kids drink from a public water fountain any more (EWWW!)? Secondly, if your child can't wait for the 1-2 hours you're there, bring something with you. I think the zoo argument is getting a little petty now.

The point of the post is there not putting the majority of the money into the facility, but merely lining there pockets.

9:18...this was sent in by somebody who took kids or grandkids there.

There are still people of an age who, yes, see a public water fountain and think it is intended to provide water for the public. That is not ridiculous.

Many places will have taken these out or put signs on them so people know, rather than leave them to try to make it work and get frustrated.

Not worth a screaming match, but it is frustrating to have something "offered" not work. Especially if you are a little kid.

Last year in the middle of scorching july sun, there was no water anywhere in the zoo...save for the river. yuck!

The zoo sucks any more. Just a group of people there who only hear what they want to hear. Open your eyes. If you think the zoo is any better after all the millions of dollars that's been dumped into that dump your delusional. To those of you who think this water fountain is disgusting to drink from, get a life you spoiled brat liberal.

What ever happened to the Beaver? Were they secretly trapped and moved to another location? They seem to have left as quickly as they arrived,or are they just hiding?
