ID Law Could Impact 10 Percent of Pennsylvania Voters

Nearly 10 percent of Pennsylvania’s registered voters do not have photo identification cards from the state transportation department and could be ineligible to vote in November under the state’s new Republican-backed voter ID law.

The Pennsylvania Department of State reported Tuesday that more than 758,000 registered voters lack a standard driver’s license or a non-driver photo ID. That’s 9.2 percent of the state’s 8.2 million voters.

In Philadelphia, where Democrats outnumber Republicans by about 6-1, 18 percent of the city’s registered voters do not have the state photo ID, the Philadelphia Inquirer reported.

So? They have from now until the election to trot their butts down to the MVA and get a photo ID.

Everybody has an ID.

If you're dumb enough to go through life without a valid photo ID, you probably shouldn't be voting anyway.

Why doesn't Obama just issue a SS number to them like he has from a dead man in Connecticut. Thee man's name was Jean Paul Ludwig, and his SS number was 042-68-4425. Anything that Obama has done using that SS number is illegal. This statement is fact and I believe the Supreme Court is supposed to hear arguments on this issue next month.

Is it our fault these people don't have a photo ID. I guess the 18% of the city's registered voters they are talking about aren't smokers or alcohol purchasers since they need to show a photo ID to purchase either of these items.

If they truly don't have an ID "GO GET ONE".

Are you sure about that 4:34? Don't they meet again to hear arguments in Oct?

4:52 You are correct. It's always suggested that you research things before commenting. 4:34. Just call O'Malley he can't help much because probably doesn't know.

These are the people who can't cash a paycheck or any other type of check for that matter. They do not drive, have any form of insurance, do not hunt, fish, or own legal firearms. They do not have credit, homes, cars, liquor, or any asset. They own nothing, and live off those who do. If they had ID, they would have to be responsible citizens.
Think about that.

How are they able to live off others if they have no ID? Don't they require some type of ID when they apply for welfare?

A number of them are Amish - part of the large Amish community in PA. Their religious beliefs include a not wanting to have any photos of themselves taken. They see that as a graven image.
They do, however, vote and are often active members of their local communities.
They use cash, bank cards or checks at the businesses that accept their non-photo ids. They have homes, businesses, are responsible citizens and do not believe in welfare.
