At age 19, Monthly One-Gun Purchase Limit is Gone

After 19 years, the one-handgun-a-month law that ended Virginia's reputation as the East Coast arsenal for criminals has passed quietly into history.

The law, a legacy of former Gov. L. Douglas Wilder, faded into oblivion at midnight Sunday, the moment the Republican-run General Assembly appointed for its permanent repeal.

Now, rather than being limited to just one of the latest models from Glock, Sig Sauer or Smith & Wesson per month, you can walk out of a licensed Virginia gun shop with an armload if you have the money and can pass an instant background check.

ooh, those evil guns

maybe the losers from the brady campaign could spend some of their energy investigating why people kill each other

but of course, they'd find out the evil gun really wasn't the problem after all.

if a person wants to commit the ultimate crime, is that person going to worry about some gun law?

criminals, by definition, don't care about laws, that's why they're called criminals... for all you public school students

everywhere law abiding citizens are free to carry weapons for defense, they have to use them less

only in places like chicago and baltimore do criminals feel safe

and wouldn't ya know it, those are where most gun crimes occur

Hitler's proudest accomplishment was when he confiscated everyone's guns

don't let that happen here

Your argument is absurd. Moee guns on the streets means more guns accesible to those who would use them for criminal purposes. How many guns does one person need?

GUN LAWS...What a joke...only prevents the honest person getting guns. I can get a larger, better, more rounds gun faster than a honest man and have no tracking of it , for when war breaks out in our own country they will not know where to come get them as with your's..lol

8:24 - What says that 'more' guns go to the hands of those who would use them for criminal purposes? Most gun owners know that these life saving tools are also investments and secure them as such. Your ignorance is deplorable. Spend more time busting crooks selling illegal arms out of the back of their vans and leave the LAW ABIDING citizens alone.

The guns are not on the streets. They are in people's homes, vehicles, purses, pockets, etc.

Friend of mine in Tennessee has a gun in every out building he has as well as in his house.

When I asked him why he said, " what if I come home and someone is in my house and I can't get inside to my guns"?

So to answer your question as to how many, I would suggest as many as it took for one to feel safe.

Guns on the street, as you put it, worries me less than NOT being able to possess one myself. At least I will be able to attempt to defend myself and my family.

Who else will protect us? You? The police hiding behind a bush running radar?

Sorry, some things you just have to do yourself.
