Resume:
Lewes, DE- The Delaware State Police, Sussex County Governor’s Task Force has arrested two individuals after the culmination of a several month long investigation into dealing illegal drugs out of their house.

On Wednesday May 30, 2012, at approximately 2:17 p.m., the Sussex County Governor’s Task Force (GTF) was patrolling the Angola by the Bay development in search of a wanted subject known to frequent the residence located on East Oak Street. GTF members made contact with homeowner, Melvin A. Reynolds, who was standing on the porch to inquire about the subject. Reynolds allowed the troopers inside the residence where John C. Harter was seen emptying his pockets of suspect drugs. When troopers instructed him to keep his hands out of his pockets, Harter failed to comply and then attempted to flee through the rear of the house where he was quickly apprehended. Harter then attempted to give a false name in order to hide the fact he was wanted out of Pennsylvania for theft and violation of probation. Harter was also found to be in possession of over $400.00 in suspected drug proceeds.

Harter and Reynolds were both taken into custody at the residence. A search of the residence was conducted and detectives located over .125 grams of heroin packaged individually for sale, 10 (8 mg) Suboxone films, 40 Hydroxyzine pills, 19 grams of marijuana, numerous other prescription pills and drug paraphernalia as well as three shot guns and ammunition.

John Harter was arrested on the above listed charges. He was arraigned at JP2 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on $13,350.00 secured bail.

Melvin Reynolds was arrested on the above listed charges. He was arraigned at JP2 and released on $14,000.00 unsecured bail.
