Detectives Investigate Possible Drowning

Milford- The Delaware State Police are currently investigating an apparent drowning that occurred last evening at a residence in Milford, DE.

The incident occurred at approximately 5:25 p.m. yesterday afternoon after troopers were called to respond to the report of a drowning that had occurred in the 10000 block of Isdell Road, Milford. Upon their arrival, troopers were advised that Joy Ann Harding, 52, had been found unconscious in the back yard swimming pool of the home by her boyfriend. The boyfriend removed Joy Ann from the pool and called 9-1-1. EMS responded to the residence and began CPR on her and then transported her to the Milford Memorial Hospital where she was pronounced dead. Her body was turned over to the medical examiner's office where an autopsy will be performed to determine the exact cause of death. It is unknown how long Ms. Harding was in the pool before being discovered.
