State Sells Rocky Gap Paving The Way For Casino

The State of Maryland no longer owns the Rocky Gap Lodge and Golf Resort near Cumberland.

Maryland's Board of Public Works has voted unanimously today to sell the resort to the company that plans on building a slot machine casino adjacent to the existing hotel.

The resort was sold to Evitts Resort LLC, which is a unit of Lakes Entertainment Inc. of Minnetonka, Minn.

The state would have been better off keeping this resort. Leave it to the Democrats to do the wrong thing. This is the same thing Ireton is trying to do, sell off all the city assets. I am sure there is a lot of back scratching and under hand deals going on.

sounds like a lot of revenue going out of state. Brilliant!
