Obamanomics: 50% Of New College Grads Unemployed/Underemployed

How’s that HopeyChangey crappola working for ya? (AP) The college class of 2012 is in for a rude welcome to the world of work. A weak labor market already has left half of young college graduates either jobless or underemployed in positions that don’t fully use their skills and knowledge. Young adults with bachelor’s degrees are increasingly scraping by in lower-wage jobs — waiter or waitress, bartender, retail clerk or receptionist, for example — and that’s confounding their hopes a degree would pay off despite higher tuition and mounting student loans. An analysis of government data conducted for The Associated Press lays bare the highly uneven prospects for holders of bachelor’s degrees. (snip) About 1.5 million, or 53.6 percent, of bachelor’s degree-holders under the age of 25 last year were jobless or underemployed, the highest share in at least 11 years. In 2000, the share was at a low of 41 percent, before the dot-com bust erased job gains for college graduates in the telecommunications and IT fields. More

I would guess that percentage is a lot higher. My son graduated from SU Perdue business school with a BS in accounting - in 2010! Everywhere he applies he gets the same response - you need at least 5 years exp. or "why are you applying for this job, you're over qualified". He received the "you're over qualified" response from the City of Salisbury the day before Pam Oland resigned. He told them he needs a job and willing to work there as long as there would be advancements. He was encouraged by the interview with Pam Oland and another woman, almost positive that he had the job. The next day I read about the retirement.

It's very discouraging for job seekers.

And to think how many of these young whippersnappers voted for Mr. Hope & Change - I bet they wish they had their vote back. To everyone who can vote this year, take a look around and see what has happened before you go to the polls and vote. You want more of the same, then shame on you.

Yeah those crazy "whippersnappers", they should be supporting the guys that brought us that amazing 0.21% increase in jobs over the course of 8 yrs. in the whitehouse and 6 yrs. of congressional dominance! Man, that whole tax cuts = jobs works amazingly.

SO what is the point of going to college again????? Oh yea to fund the government with your student loans. It gets you into debt and as of now that is about all you can get with a BA, debt.
