Job Search Center Gets Dedicated Space


WHAT: Job Search Center moves into a new room in the Main Library

WHO: Job Seekers, other Agencies that assist job seekers

WHERE: Job Search Center in the Main Library

SALISBURY, MD – April 4, 2012 – Look for the new Job Search Center room just past the book return in the Main Library. There is now a whole room dedicated to job seekers, with staff trained to help!

Since opening, the Job Search Center has helped over 7,000 people. Job Search Center staff help people look for a job, create or update their resume, apply for jobs online and even help with interviewing skills and thank you letters.

The Job Search Center is funded in part by Lower Shore Workforce Alliance, the workforce division of the Tri-County Council for the Lower Eastern Shore of Maryland.

Job Search Center services are available at the Main Library, Centre Branch and Pittsville Branch.

Having tried these centers in the past, is there any way to report the success (or lack thereof)? A count of how many people used the centers doesn't mean much when you are looking for work while the revelation that less than some figure (1%?) might indicate that the centers help employ little more than those that work there which is not worth much. The intent may be good but...
