(Reuters) - President Barack Obama, under Republican attack for high gas prices that could harm his re-election bid, urged Americans on Wednesday to have faith in alternative fuels and accused rivals of not telling the truth about the rising cost of energy.
For the second time in less than a week, Obama railed against "phony" quick fixes to the nation's energy challenge as he visited the election battleground state of North Carolina.
It was another chance for Obama to draw a sharp distinction with his Republican challengers, who he says can talk of easy solutions on the campaign trail that he cannot consider as president. On Tuesday, citing his duty as commander in chief, he took a similar tack when he chided Republicans for "beating the drums of war" over Iran's nuclear program.
"We are not going to be able to just drill our way out of the problem of high gas prices," Obama told workers at a Daimler Trucks North America factory that makes vehicles that run on natural gas.

Fortunately, I saved the tire gauge that this idiot told us to go out and buy the last time that Obama Juice went up. I'll inflate my tires a little bit and this will all go away.
I love how Fox News is blaming Obama when just 4 years ago they said the president could not control the gas price? Again, republicans living in a bubble.
50 cents is added to gas price by speculation alone. The should pass a bill making it illegal to speculate gas prices.

This is a capitalistic country. That will never happen. The ones who really run this country don't care about the prices, or you, or me.
They want the money and will stop at nothing to get it. And will succeed.
Let's face it folks, the policies of this administration are failed.Maybe things will get better if we throw a couple billion more on windmills and solar panels, maybe one of the companies will stay in business.Or maybe another half billion so we can engineer better car batteries in Europe.Don't forget three quaters of a billion for offshore oil drilling off South America,so we can buy the oil back from them and be a good customer.Give me one, just one thing they have done right.
