Our Girl Scout troop has decided to take their cookies sales profit $ AND some of the cookies themselves & send care packages. One of the soldiers is a family member of sorts. We'll just call him Lt. Jon for now. We are sending boxes of cookies, nuts, deodorants, extra socks, chapsticks, handwarmers, lifesavers, dried fruit, hand cream, trail mix, a roll of toilet paper and some baby wipes for each soldier (honest - their needs are that basic!) We've also put in some qtips, a few books and magazines, puzzle books, some instant coffee and drink enhancers like propel and iced teas. And now we realize we have a bit of a problem! We want to send 17 boxes and each ONE costs nearly $15.00 to send APO flat rate.
If anyone would like to send a card and a check payable to the USPS we can send one more box each. The soldier would love to hear from us and we just can't really afford to send any more boxes.
