‘Death Stare’ And ‘Foul Odor’ From ‘The Devil’ Greet SLC Deputies

Christopher Reed looked at a St. Lucie County Sheriff’s deputy with a “death stare.”

“I am the devil and I will kill you,” Reed is quoted as saying in a recently released arrest affidavit.

Reed, 43, gave the deadly look and said he was Satan March 7 after the deputy asked whether he felt OK – responses that could suggest he wasn’t feeling OK.

A deputy went to the 5600 block of Angle Road after an apparent report of a man on the side of the road. The deputy found a man later identified as Reed on a canal bank.

“As I got closer, I could smell a strong foul odor coming from the subject,” the affidavit states.

Read that again.
What is wrong with this picture?
What exactly was probable cause for police contact/interaction?

Nothing illegal in being a crazy foul smelling idiot with a "death stare"...
But, who cares, intimidate him and use the escalation theory to incite an altercation... hes a crazy homeless guy.
The cop is definitely all wet on this one.
