Sex education is failing to reduce adolescent birthrates in conservative states, according to a new study.
Perhaps paradoxically, states with a majority conservative population and higher degree of religiosity tend to have higher teen birthrates. The findings suggest that the social structure of the state, such as the degree of conservatism, can undermine the effect of the sex curricula.
The researchers, from Washington University in St. Louis (WUSL), do not recommend abstinence-based education, but rather crafting sex education curricula that take into account the influences of a state's sociopolitical composition. The study appears today (Feb. 6) in the Archives of Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine.

What a huge lie just look at any inner-city which you will find in blue states.
Is anyone REALLY surprised by this?
Here is a GIANT reality check. Teenagers have sex. I don't care how religious or holy or conservative or whatever you are.... it's GONNA happen.
To teach your children that contraception is evil.. or to not let your children take birth control WILL result in higher teen birth rates... and all of the Churchin in the world won't stop this... and if you think that teaching only abstinence is the solution then you are sorely deluded.
If you love your children, teach them what you think is right, teach them what you think is moral. Teach them about abstinence if you think it is the right thing. But if you don't teach them about proper protection if they decide to go against your will, or demonize that protection, or deny birth control.... then I believe you love your ideologies more love your children and in doing so you also share the blame.
