A Letter To The Editor 2-22-12

While watching the news tonight something just hit me wrong. Maybe a good point for comments.

Now MD lawmakers want to make a law to make it illegal to smoke while driving (maybe, just while children are present). Anyway, I feel these lawmakers are paid way too much to be making (or even thinking of) laws such as this. Although I agree with the intent, they should be doing more to reduce crime and to punish offenders of
more serious nature.

To me, this is more justification of 'vote the do nothings out'.

It should be your business what you do in your car.Do they make the payments, pay for the gas, pay for the insurance? When they can do all of these things then tell me what the hell I can do in my vehicle. If I want to fart, smoke, or listen to music it is my right. There is always some ahole trying to tell people what to do at someone elses expense.Get a real job stop trying to be in the Koolaid when you do not even know what the flavor is.

It's been reported "Third hand smoke" kills, too. You ask what is Third Hand smoke? If someone is a smoker then the smoke stays with them in their clothes, hair, etc. Just wondering what kind of law these "do nothings" in Annapolis will try and pass for this.

I agree. Though I do not agree with smoking while children are in the car, the children do not belong to the government. Parents should be able to make their own decisions, whether good or bad. Obviously there is punishment for the really bad decisions.

The laws they should be passing they don't. Like for instance food labeling but they won't touch it because the industry lobbies to keep it all a secret. Children are eating food that is so gentically modified it can not be safe as studies have proven. Even those who eat only seafood are being deceived because factory farmed fish is given cattle fat hormones, so you are ultimately consuming a beef product.
The so called 2nd hand smoke is a drop in the bucket compared to the food supply.
