Salisbury Police Department Press Releases 2-22-12

Rodney Elliott Stevenson, 44yo, with no fixed address was arrested and charged with Armed Robbery, Theft <$100, Reckless Endangerment, Possession of a Deadly Weapon, 1st &
2nd degree Assault, Possession of Cocaine, and Possession of Paraphernalia.

On February 17, 2012
at approximately 9:36pm, officers responded to the 400 block of Barclay St in reference to an armed robbery. On arrival, officers met with the victim who advised that he had been approached by a black male. The victim stated that the black male removed an object from his pants pocket. The black male then told the victim to “put everything you have on the ground.” The black male then showed the victim that he had a knife in his possession. Fearing for his safety, the victim
removed all property from his pockets and placed the property on the ground which included the victim’s wallet that contained $10.

The victim was told by the black male to leave the area which the victim complied. The victim was able to give a clothing and physical description to the officers. This was relayed to other responding officers who located a subject matching the description in the Wailes St area. The black male, upon being approached, fled on foot from the officer. The officer was able to stop, and after a brief struggle, detain the black male, who was later identified as Stevenson. The victim was able to positively identify Stevenson as the black male that had robbed him of his wallet and $10. Search incident to arrest of Stevenson located a utility knife, a quantity of suspected cocaine and a smoking device. Stevenson was released to the custody of central booking.

No injuries were reported.

On February 18, 2012 at approximately 1:51pm, officers responded to the Peninsula Pharmacy located at 2417 N Salisbury Blvd for a reported armed robbery. On arrival it was learned that a white male had entered into the business and displayed a handgun with what appeared to be pearl handled grips. The white male then jumped over the counter. The white male demanded and then received an unspecified number of a prescription medication. The white male then fled from the business and was last seen on foot in the area of the Salisbury Mobile Home Park. No injuries were reported.

The white male is described as 6’0-6’1hgt, 190-195wgt, wearing a dark blue in color Carhartt coat, light blue jeans, dark shoes or boots, and wearing latex gloves.
