Less Regulation, More Innovation Key To Job Growth, O’Malley Says

Gov. Martin O’Malley spread his message of job creation through more innovation and less paperwork at a Friday morning symposium with hundreds of members of the state’s business community. Both innovation and efficiency are key to the continued success of Maryland’s economy, O’Malley said. “The challenge we have is to get that job-generating opportunity engine that is Maryland operating again.”

That's ludicrous! I just went on the bid board and looked at the only Maryland job my company is geared for, and saw that it required that i file weekly reports to the state on each hourly employees tasks each individual hour, what they made each hour, whether I paid any benefits and if so how much each one, then I have to leave 10% behind at the end of the job for two years for "warranty" and who knows if I'd ever see that?

Really? Less paperwork? Ever wonder why government contractors have to charge so much? We have to do our books twice a week!

I couldn't agree with you more. O'Malley preaches one tune yet his actions say something else.

I also went on USA jobs and entered 'Electrician'. What came up were government jobs that start at $38,000.

Yet our own team of electricians we are required to $56/hour and $14/hour in fringes 56 + 14 = $68/hr.

Now tell me that is fair?
You will be hard pressed to find a State employee electrician that is making that amount of money yet he requires the private sector to certify that they are paying the higher amount.

O'Malley is a hypocrite!

MOM is the bigest hypocrite around. Just look at his MDE and how they have stolen our property rights.
