FEDERAL JUDGE ORDERS SHERIFF ARPAIO TO STOP ARRESTING PEOPLE SIMPLY BECAUSE HE THINKS THEY ARE UNDOCUMENTED

Less than two weeks after the Department of Justice found widespread lawlessness and abuse of Latinos by Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio and his deputies, an Arizona federal judge ordered Arpaio to end one of his most abusive practices — detaining and arresting people who have committed no crime merely because his office suspects them of being undocumented.

If they are here illegally, then they are doing something illegal and should be arrested. I'm sure Arpaio doesn't just round up people willy nilly like the "Judge" is hellbent on making it appear so with his order. That's like formally ordering a law abiding citizen to stop murdering people!

That whole headline is a lie!
Arpaio has established a policy that his officers check the status of anyone stopped by them.
He is not arresting people randomly.
Stupid libtard judges and media!

The responses here show that the "conservatives" who cheer Arpaio care nothing for individual liberty or limited government.

Arpaio and his deputies routinely violate the natural rights of the residents of Maricopa County. It's astounding that conservatives cheer on government officers routinely detaining and arresting people who have committed no crime. According to the Constitution (and according to anyone who believes that people have certain inalienable rights that come from God), the government can't do that. But I guess it's far more important to enforce immigration laws (again, laws that violate our natural right and infringe on the free market) than to respect people's individual liberty.

It's strange that conservatives throw overboard their beliefs in limited government, the free market, and liberty when it comes to this one issue: immigration. Maybe, just maybe, those who do are only committed to these principles when they apply to people who look like they do. When someone speaks Spanish, though, I guess it all goes out the window, huh?

And I write this as a committed conservative and Republican voter.
