COUNTY EXECUTIVE'S "STATE OF THE COUNTY" SPEECH - 12/28/11 - 10AM - COUNCIL CHAMBERS

Wicomico County Executive Richard M. Pollitt, Jr., will deliver his annual “State of Wicomico County” address on Wednesday, December 28th at 10:00 A.M. in Council Chambers of the Government Office Building. The public is invited. Mr. Pollitt will also distribute the 5th edition of his “Report to the People.”

Mr. Pollitt has traditionally used the “State of the County” speech to recap the activities of the past year and set an agenda for the new year. Mr. Pollitt commented, "Our challenges continue to confront us and the ramifications of our actions will set our course for years to come. These times demand courageous decisions and I intend to be the loudest voice in urging our elected leadership to do what it takes to secure our county for a future bright with progress and opportunity. It would be good to have an informed and engaged community at my side."

Does he think he is Harry Truman? "Wanting the community by his side after they are informed and engaged?"

Well, I am informed and engaged, and you, sir, are not Harry Truman.
All I ask is for you to do your job and do what is best for us, those who have put you in the position you are in now.

Someone needs to count the number of times he discusses lack of revenues - and repealing the revenue cap as well as cutting spending and eliminating unnecessary positions. That will verify what the informed already know...

There are a number of us who are "informed and enraged".

I am informed and don't need any more BS spewing from his mouth. He just needs to do the job he was elected to do and that does not mean spend, spend, spend.
