The Value of a College Degree

As college costs continue to rise, it's reasonable to step back and take a look at how much a bachelor's degree may be worth in terms of career earnings.

Utilizing U.S. Census Bureau data, The Chronicle of Higher Education analyzed salaries of 171 majors. Here's a rundown of the median earnings ranges of some degrees, in thousands of dollars:

Education: 36-50
Communications and journalism: 45-51
Engineering: 51-120
Arts: 40-46
Psychology and social work: 29-53
Humanities and liberal arts: 38-57

If you went to college, do you think your degree returned well on what you invested?
