Some local officials don't want your vote. Instead, they need you to show up and serve as an elections judge, and they'll pay you to do it.
In Montgomery County the call is going out already, if you're willing to attend and complete training sessions and serve on Election Day. You could get up to $200 dollars -- the pay for a chief judge.
All you have to do is uphold the integrity of the elections, set up the polling place and assist voters. Training begins early next year.
Republicans and Spanish speakers are in demand, and not because they're playing favorites. The language issue is obvious, and elections laws call for judges from both sides of the aisle to ensure a fair process. Given Montgomery County's demographics -- Democrats still outnumber Republicans -- officials say they always put out the call a bit early.
