Honestly, who cares about his sex life? I'm just glad to see that we have a politician out there that can actually prove that he has a pair! haha!

But really, this stuff happens all the time. Just because he is a politician, does that make him upheld to a higher standard? Technically, this is mild compared to all the criminal doings behind typical politics. But we could look at the bright side of his resignation, that's one less democrat out there!

Now if Obama would do the same.

I don't find Weiner's resignation premature at all. I think he was a pretty limp leader anyway...

Anthony Weiner is going to run for Preisdent with Eric Holder as his running mate. I can see that bumper sticker now. Weiner-Holder

11:13 being a politician, a public servant, does mean that you should be upheld at a higher standard. We already saw what happens when standards are lowered and we ended up with a cowbow from Toy Story as a president for 8 years who managed to embarrass this country in front of the whole world.

Wiener had no choice but to
resign, as a democrat I'm sad to see him go as he was an effective legislator.

Yes. His focus should be on the job he was hired to do, not getting his rocks off.

Yes anon 11:07, and it's all spelled out in the House of Representatives Code of Conduct.

A politician should be held to a higher standard. If we cannot look to our elected representatives for both moral and ethical leadership who can we look to.

And as to your last sentenance; are you trying to say, that you are glad to see him go because he was an effective legislator

I think he is. As a matter of fact, I think all democrats should resign as well.

of course. he still gets his million dollar pension, keeps his perks, and has a possible movie deal now. why shouldnt he? basically its getting the pay with out doing the work now! wish i could do that!

Who else can we look up too. Someone who is a role model, someone we can trust. The only one I can think of is God. I guess that is why so many people are trying to get rid of him. They cant live up to HIS standards.

Yes and now Vitter, who actually broke the law, should follow him.

Bill Clinton was a public servant.

Were the dems screaming for his resignation?

Didn't we set the precedent when our PRESIDENT was getting a BJ from a White House intern and was not forced to resign?

Funny....not one of the previous comments ever mentioned the biggest problem with this issue...HE LIED FOR DAYS! Come on...the code of ethics was rolled up and smoked in this example of leadership.

He hasn't resigned yet. Just said he was going to.

3:19, You hit the nail on the head! That is the true root of why he should resign. In fact ALL crooked politicians should resign!
Oops, that would only leave 17 in the House and 4 in the senate...

Absolutely! When caught in the act, instead of telling lies which only make it worse; our elected officials shouldn't make the first mistake. Why can't they just do the public's business and leave their junk alone?!
