Yes-YES-YES...Why is his situation different then Congressman Lee who was a republican and step down before the scandel broke. Most people heard about the resignation before the details of the scandal. Why is this different then Jim Tressel at Ohio State. He had knowledge of rules being broken and did nothing about it. Until we start to hold these people accountable we will continue to have people in positions of authority who act contrary to our expectations. There must be consequences for poor judgement from the leaders among us.
No, there have been many people who have lived questionable home lives but were still effective at their jobs. I am a (D) but I feel the same way about Chris Lee and the Governator. When the personal life comprimises their public service then I draw the line. The only thing that separates many people from these men is: getting caught. :o)

Only if he is being remiss at his duties of being a political figure. I agree with 12:10 in that questionable home life does not mean a lack of effectiveness at job. What he did was stupid of him but it happened and has happened to many people. He should not have to resign.

I believe the decision is up to the democratic leadership though I am concerned with Weiner's lack of good judgement and common sense.
Also what he did is very juvenile and screams college frat house behaviour. The fact that he opened himself up for blackmail is a concern. Absoultely! He has secret clearance and I don't believe he can be trusted to do the right thing. He clearly continued sending pics and messages for an extended period of time, continued after he was married less than a year ago. Simply put, he is untrustworthy and should be resign immediately.

Weiner could have been a real stand up guy if he had told the truth to begin with. Instead of having stiff resolve Weiner went limp and decided to lie. Weiner didn't rise to the occasion and tell the truth. He petered out and told a little fib instead of being the bigger Weiner and telling the truth. When a Weiner lies it always goes flat where as Weiner could have been pumped up by simply telling the truth.
The moral of the story is a Weiner should be truthful to move up in life. It is sometimes better to come out on top with the truth instead of hitting the bottom with a lie. Maybe next time he will decide to be a better Weiner. I believe Weiner should just shrink away and resign.

His recent actions show a lack of good judgement.
How can we expect him to have good judgement when dealing with the affairs of the nation? How can we be assured that he would not compromise things of national security over his personal mis-conduct?
How can we be certain that such behavior would not lead to being blackmailed or other worse things?
