Another day, another example of the ineptitude of the TSA screeners at American airports. The latest news comes from an award-winning Chicago chef who says that while the screeners were busy worrying about the contents of his pockets, they completely missed an arsenal of knives in his carry-on.
A few days ago James Beard Award-winning chef Paul Kahan wrote the following on his Twitter account:
“Flew outa ohare today. Forgot I had four huge chefs knives in carry on bag. Got patted down for wallet. Knives went through. ”
That's right, travelers of the skies, the TSA will detain you while they inspect your contact lens solution, but feel free to just carry those huge, deadly knives onto the plane.

Another award winning branch of our government. Don't we feel protected with idiots at the wheel.
Obama , you the man , I feel so safe with all the change.
The TSA knows who the terrorists are and its THEM!
Surprised? After all the TSA is run by Janet Incompitano.
The author assumes the TSA is there to protect us from terrorists.
The real purpose of the TSA is to condition the public into accepting unconstitutional searches and abuse of power.
hahaha.what a joke.
10:27 is 100% correct. TSA once searched my tennis shoes (I was wearing shorts and a t-shirt, trying to be as openly non-threatening as possible) so thoroughly, they felt EACH one over every square inch. Loosened the laces to checked them out. Its ALL ABOUT making Americans used to, and submissive to, invasive and illegal searches. The Bill of Rights has been trashed. In order to "protect" us. Jefferson (Thomas, NOT William Clinton) would be so happy to see what our government does now to its own citizens. I know I feel SO "protected", I can't hardly stand it.
Can't stand flying because of TSA's. They are rude and incompetent. So is U S Airways. The combination at the Salisbury-Wicomico Airport is unbelievably terrible to go through. Ma and Pa Kettle could run an airport better and more securely.
