Update: Victim was seen in water and they have now lost visual. Sounds like one person only. Its a over turned kayak.
UPDATE #2: They just recovered the body in the pond. The Medical Examiner and Chaplain have been called in. Its official. They have the victim in Laurel's boat and are going to the ramp.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to this person and their Family. A special thank you to ALL of those involved in recovering this individual.

Spoken with a someone who lives on the lake. They have not located the guy. He is an employee at PRMC. Not should what 4:34 is talking about the guy has not been find or recovered. They are still on the scence diving.

At 9:49 pm DNR and Delmar just placed recovery operations on hold until 7:00am tomorrow morning.
I don't think 7:02 has a problem at all. 4:34 is the one with the problem or trying to start one. Last I heard... and it was after 4:34pm they had not found him. 4:34 is the one trying to stir the pot.
Anyone that would KNOWINGLY post something false just to stir the pot needs their head examined. No doubt they are one of the jealous ones that are from the other blogs. Shame on you. May you get fleas in your undies!
To the idiots posting false info on here what of it was one of your family members or friends that was the one missing. How would you feel if someone were to make fun of them. Come on people this is a human being a rescue attempt or a loss of life is nothing to make fun of.
DNR officials will not release the name of the boater since his family has yet to be notified. But he was reportedly a male in his mid 40's.
Although the area was open Thursday night for fishing, it will close Friday at 7a.m. when the search continues. "So what we would like is to ask the public to stay off Leonard's mill pond," says Sgt. Arthur Windemuth with the Maryland DNR. "Stay out of the area, let the search crews do their job and so we can bring it to a successful conclusion."
Why do there have to be sarcastic and crass comments on every article on this page? Something as straightforward and non-controversial as this can still bring out stupid and ridiculous comments. I knew this person. He is not a punchline. There are a lot of people devastated and desperately waiting for news. Maybe since his name has not been released, you will find out you knew him and loved him too and hopefully will feel like the dummy you are.

My prayers are with family so sad to lose a loved one at any time.
My thought and prayers go ut to the family, friends, neighbors and co-workers of the deceased. My he rest in peace and may God be with all who are grieving.
As we can see, a tragedy can happen in an instance. We have a wonderful fire and rescue service in our area and they still couldn't do anything to save this life. The one who has the best chance to save you is YOU. Please be careful and be prepared for anything. Don't take anything for granted and plan for safety first.
Water safety is very important to talk about now. If you can't swim, wear a life jacket. If you can swim, wear a life jacket. If possible, don't go in the water by yourself. Tell others where you are going and what time you plan on returning. Even the most routine outings can have tragic outcomes so please plan and prepare. Boater safety courses are offered and I will personally help anyone who has any questions about their personal safety or the safety of their vessel.
Thanks to all the fire, police, DNR and local volunteers who helped with the rescue and recovery efforts. Once again, our community came together to help in the search of one person. Everyone is important and there is no cost to put on the value of each person's life.
