Read Across America

SALISBURY, MD---The Salisbury Jaycees hosts its fourth annual Read Across America event 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 5, at the Wicomico Public Library in downtown Salisbury.

The event features local celebrities reading their favorite children’s books, as well as coloring activities and a visit from Saul, the Salisbury Jaycees Bear. Guest readers include library director Tom Hehman, Wicomico County Sheriff Mike Lewis and WBOC meteorologist Jennifer Walker. The first 75 children in attendance receive a free book.

Held in connection with Dr. Seuss’ birth week, Read Across America is a nationwide children’s literacy event sponsored by the National Education Association.
