The O’Malley administration’s proposal to build off-shore wind turbines to generate electricity faced strong headwinds in the Senate Finance Committee Tuesday. Senators spent almost 2½ hours grilling administration officials about the annual cost to consumers to finance the project and the plan to force utilities to buy the power through a 25-year contract. In his testimony on the bill, the governor himself got similar blow-back from delegates at a House hearing March 3.

The consumers shouldn't have to finance it. We already have paid for "upgrades and improvements". We pay for that every month on our existing bills but every time they want to propose something new, they say it will cost consumers. They want to raise the rates now to pay for it and once it's completed, they'll raise the rates again because they'll say it costs more to produce the electric.
What a game these utility companies ALL play!
On a related subject of green energy, Eastern Shore Coffee put solar panels on their roof several months ago.I wasn't qualified at the time to bid on the job, so I'm not trying to promote my business. But...if you stop by on a sunny day, I bet the owner will be more than happy to explain why the DP&L meter is spinning backwards.
