Resume:
New Castle- The Delaware State Police have arrested a 28 year old Middletown woman after she left her 4 year old daughter at a New Castle gas station late this morning.
The incident occurred at approximately 11:30 a.m. this morning as Jennifer Holmwood of the 200 block of Oak Acres Drive in Middletown, pulled her vehicle into the Valero Fuel Station located in the 800 block of S. DuPont Highway in New Castle in order to get gas. Holmwood escorted her four year old daughter to a portable bathroom outside of the fuel station, and then returned to her vehicle. Holmwood then drove off in her vehicle, leaving the four year old behind. Another customer of the station saw the child alone and escorted her inside where police were then contacted.
Troopers then escorted the juvenile to Troop 9 where they attempted to obtain her parents information. As this was occurring, troopers were called to respond to Lorewood Grove Road and Ratledge Road in Middletown where Jennifer Holmwood’s vehicle had become disabled. A passing motorist, who stopped to assist Holmwood, was advised by her that she could not find her daughter. The motorist then contacted 911 and it was then that responding troopers realized that Jennifer Holmwood was the mother of the four year old female.
Jennifer Holmwood was arrested and charged with the above crimes. The four year old juvenile was turned over to family members. She was not injured.
Bail information and a photo of Jennifer Holmwood are not available at this time.

When situations like this happen it should be bye-bye to your parental rights! That child doesn't stand a chance with a mother like that.

THIS is just unreal and a REASON WHY we need drunk driver registry for these people to be on. Heck this is her 5th offense, any other type of crime would wind u in Jail and dried out for life. But this lady can be busted AT LEAST 5 times we know of and this time endanger her child. PLEASE STOP THESE MONSTERS and make drunk driver registries and have them but a mark on their License so when they get pulled over the Officer can check them out a little better to make sure the rest of us is SAFE from these monsters. CONTACT Annapolis NOW and DEMAND D/D Registries and D/D Marks on Licenses to save us.

Not only is it her 5th offence it was 11:30 in the morning when she was drunk driving her daughter around. I know the family and they are trash. The little girls father is a drug dealer so there is no hope. Ms Holmwoods lawer gets her off everything. Pure disgusting

My point to the tee ...these people are the real reason we need Drunk Driver and Drug Dealer Registry to protect our families from these monsters and make them known to the public so we can protect ourselfs. Face it the SEX-OFFENDER registry has stopped sex offenses , so lets stop all crimes with other type of registries

This is so sad. Five DUIs and this woman is 28 years old? Why does she have a drivers license and vehicle? At some point, the state shouldn't allow these ignorant repeat offenders to own or insure a vehicle. And to make matters worse, she is driving around with a child in her car! Is there anyone who knows this woman and her daughter who cares about the little girl???? Grandparents? Aunts? Uncles? Anyone??? This poor child deserves so much better. Give her a chance and put her with a family who won't endanger her life!
This woman needs help. She apparently has been given numerous chances. Whoever is paying her attorney's fees should put that money into rehab and therapy instead. SOMEONE needs to think about the child!

This woman needs help. So does her child, because her safety is endangered. In January 2010 Jennifer was formally charged with Felony Resisting Arrest, Felony Assault on a Police Officer, Misdemeanor Criminal Mischief and Misdemeanor Disorderly Conduct as the result of a situation at a bar where the policer were called to remove her. This isn't an isolated incident, she is a repeat offender and needs to get off the road, surrender her child to someone who is capable of caring for her, and get into a program that can help her. If she doesn't, someone may end up in the morgue as a result of Jennifer's actions.
