Five Americans are among 184 people arrested so far; 230 abused children, some as young as seven, have been taken to safety
An Internet pedophile ring with up to 70,000 members — thought to be the world's largest —has been uncovered by police, a security official said Wednesday.
The European police agency Europol said in a statement that "Operation Rescue" had identified 670 suspects and that 230 abused children in 30 countries had been taken to safety. More children are expected to be found, Europol said.
It said that so far 184 people had been arrested and investigations in some countries were continuing. Most of those detained are suspected of direct involvement in sexually abusing children.
They include teachers, police officers and scout leaders, AP reported. One Spaniard who worked at summer youth camps is suspected of abusing some 100 children over five years.
Europol director Rob Wainwright said Wednesday the ring, which communicated using an Internet forum, was was "probably the largest online pedophile network in the world."

I may be mistaken but child pornography is dealt with a lot differently in most European countries. There are no slap on the wrist and "please report your where abouts every year"

your tone seemed sarcastic regarding "church goers". there are all kinds of sick people in church. church is for the sick, not for the perfect.
it's unfortunate we have to deal with this type of sickness/sin but we do. many of these people were abused this way as a child and many were and still are addicted to child porn. now they chose to act it out. sad isn't it.
it's my understanding there is NO cure for them. because of this i think they should be put away for life with no chance of getting out.
FACE it there is really no CURE for drunks / drug addicts and other type of criminals , maybe we need a complete CRIMINAL REGISTRY for ALL type of CRIMES so we are SAVED from all type of monsters. Lets face it, don't YOU want to know more about those living around you to protect your family from Drug Dealers / Thiefs / Drunk Drivers who could hit your Loved ones on way home / Gun Bangers . CONTACT ANNAPOLIS NOW and demand MANY type of registries to PROTECT us from these CRIMINAL monsters that will ruin us all in one way or anther.

NO IT was not a Sarcastic post. It was meant to PROTECT the PUBLIC from ALL type of criminals as we HAVE the right to know who lives around us as we do with sex-offenders. Would you not want to know the person lives next to you is a Break In thief and or repeated drug dealer / drunk driver/ or gun user and or spousal Abuser to protect your loved ones from these monsters. Heck the Sex-Offender Registry is working 100% and stopping those on there , so why not expand it and STOP ALL crimes.
