GOVERNOR MARTIN O’MALLEY TO JOIN U.S. HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES SECRETARY KATHLEEN SEBELIUS, SENATOR BARBARA A. MIKULSKI, AND ATTORNEY GENERAL DOUG GANSLER TO CELEBRATE ANNIVERSARY OF THE AFFORDABLE CARE ACT

ANNAPOLIS, MD  –  Governor Martin O’Malley will join U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, Senator Barbara Mikulski and Attorney General Doug Gansler to celebrate the one-year anniversary of the Affordable Care Act (ACA). The Governor will participate in a roundtable to discuss how the Consumer Assistance Program is helping families in Maryland and across the country navigate their health insurance options. Made possible under the ACA, the Consumer Assistance Program provides nearly $30 million in new resources to States to help them provide consumers with information on insurance options and their rights under the new law. Today marks the official one-year anniversary of the ACA.

Maryland has become a national leader in health care reform and innovation. Since entering office in 2007, the O’Malley-Brown Administration has championed measures that have expanded health care coverage to 262,000 Marylanders, provided small businesses with incentives to offer coverage to employees, expanded dental care to low income children and launched initiatives, such as the Patient Centered Medical Home pilot and the Healthiest Maryland program, aimed to promote prevention and to coordinate patient care.

"..Maryland has become a national leader in health care reform and innovation. Since entering office in 2007, the O’Malley-Brown Administration has championed measures that have expanded health care coverage.."

That's our problem. That's why this state is flat broke and going down the tubes at light-speed.

Maryland has been in a race with Mass. to see which state could become the first Socialist state in the US--

This plan for universal healthcare is so plainly unworkable that it makes me wonder how in the world these people can stand there and act like they're doing something so wonderful.

What they're doing is destroying our state and our country.

They're totally clueless.
