Salisbury City Council Under Siege?

Last night’s Salisbury City Council meeting provided yet another excellent contrast to their counterparts on the Wicomico County Council.  At County Council meetings, the only time you see Sheriff Mike Lewis or one of his deputies is when they are there to discuss an issue with the council (this includes deputies who have occasionally come to participate in public comment).  Upon arrival at last evening’s council meeting you would have been greeted by not one (as usual), not two, but THREE SPD officers (two in uniform and one detective).
Is Louise Smith getting paranoid?  Was this some insipid response to the tragedy in Tuscon?  Who knows, but it was definitely overkill.
Perhaps the Salisbury Council could learn a lesson from Wicomico Council president Gail Bartkovich and her predecessors.  Invite people to come.  Let them have their say.  Don’t gavel citizens out of order, or shut meetings down because you don’t like what someone has to say.

Saw you last nite defending Deb and Ter. Guess you don't really care about furloughed or laid off workers. To get out of debt everyone needs to tighten belts - without exceptions.

I'm sure they got overtime pay.

The cops were there because someone is offering to do brain implants for D&T. That would threaten their political careers.

Most likely a response to the Board Meeting shooting in FL.

Could it be that they -(Louisal & Company) - read the caption article on Jefferson County, Alabama's WWT Plant?

Like Salisbury's WWT Plant - it forced Jefferson County into bankruptcy. Guess who is ultimatley going to be on the hook for the run-a-way project costs - you guessed it Salisbury residents.

Maybe they were afraid of some justified irate citizens showing up.

If something had happened, you would have said it was due to poor leadership.
