"Thank you for your email. With the request for proposals that the city put out, both Mr. Gillis and Mr. Brushmiller met the criteria for keeping the historical significance of the fire station. Beyond that, they could do pretty much what they wanted with the building. Of course, Mr. Brushmiller has withdrawn his proposal, which would have brought us some sort of theatre project. So the Gillis project is all we have left on the table. If we do not accept his proposal we would go back to the council to draft another request for proposals that could be given to business owners. That would take a very long time. So my hope is that this project works. If council does not pass, I will go back to the drawing board. Again, thank you for emailing me."

No Jim is not a FOB, he is more like a POS...
Oh darn! If the current RFP process does not bring forth the best financial proposal to the City, they may have to start over again. I understand that the economy is not currently very good and just maybe waiting a bit could bring a more reasonable compensation to the City.
Remember: Waiting cost nothing if values are stagnant. Not so however if you expect the market to eventually pick up. Yes one could argue that maintenance costs while unsold could cause unavoidable expenditures but you then might need to ask why in the world is this hick town taking delivery of a "free" fireboat it doesn't need.
