Ireton, Smith, Comegys & Shields Ask For A Lawsuit

Even though I warned the Mayor and Council that IF they unloaded the old Fire Station for $100,000.00 I would immediately file suit against the City of Salisbury for discrimination and whatever else my attorneys drum up.

Considering they voted to move forward with the sale, they will be served this week a lawsuit.

We'll see what a Judge has to say about their behavior.

Good luck with that Joe! Seems there are a lot of people that need to be bumped off their pedestals so they can see they are not the object the world revolves around.

Laws dealing with disposal of public property (including the city of Salsibury) are very specific. In this case, other governmental agencies are to be given first crack, and if no interest it is to be put up for public auction.

May need to seek wise counsel in this regard.

That council meeting was such a joke--can't wait until Louise, Gary and Shanie get voted out. When they do, maybe someone will get voted in that will listen to the people. I think Weezer needs a hearing aid!

Go get em Joe!!

GO for it Joe, it is time someone put these idiots in their places.

Joe, Its the right thing to do, but you already know that. Take them down!

I was shocked at Brad and Palmer Gillis comments, especially Palmer's. Was there anybody he didn't insult?

Louise Smith's behavior was horible!!!

Also, I had no idea that riverfront property was included! I don't know that legal mumbo jumbo the redhead was talking aobut. This is a major ripoff.

Palmer Gillis is proud to be part of that? Shame on him. Shame on him for his nasty comments tonight too.

Weasle kept hurring the meeting..I guess she had to be back at the nursing home before 8.

I was there and spoke favorably of the Gillis's plan for the property. I also spoke of the unfairness of the price.

If Palmer and Bradley are reading this, please note: Although I do not know them personally, I feel they lack humility. There tone at the meeting was smug. A different approach would win them favor.

As for the result, I for one am suspect of the rest of the story. Just because there are only two bids, there are no requirements that either must be accepted. You are all on notice, I will be watching and researching.

P.S. Start signing your name folks. It lends more to your credibility

I was going to tell you not to waste your time, but if the Gillis family is involved, you should go get 'em. No doubt this is a bad deal for the city.

Did anybody else hear Councilwoman Cohen as to how many properties were being sold? I know I did. The real con was palmer & co. getting a riverfront lot plus two other properties for the $100,000. With the paperwork Councilwoman was reading from, it didn't sound like the invitation for bid was the same in any of them. I also agree with CouncilWoman Campbell, why is the city giving away those properties so cheat when they are not forced to sell it? I was shocked how the city was spending money tonight, plus giving away such a valuable property. I guess that's why my city taxes are so high...to help support the majority of the council's friends! cj

The only way they get voted out is if YOU vote them out.

The 'good ole' boy' network is so rampant in the city as well as the county. Since when does any organization, especially in this economy turn down a higher price to be PAID for anything. The council is full of idiots and need to be sued. The only way they realize that is if a court tells them so. This is a no brainer lawsuit go for it and I hope it cost the idiots in charge a bundle to settle. If the citizens are allowing this ignorant decision to go forth then they should pay for it. I would wish you luck, but this is an open and shut case of several violations.Slap 'em silly Joe!!

It would do so much good to have these losers successfully sued and rode out of town on a rail next election, with no successors in sight, like Muir Boda and Richard Insley, The Younger, scion of the grand slum property legacy of Richard, The Elder, who should join them all on that rough sawed rail.

Hey 9:03 , the city doesn't have an attorney. The fellow they have is as dumb as a brick.

Ireton has become what he said he wouldnt...Barrie.....

I watched the show as well and find it quite interesting that
Mrs. Cohen was confused after all
the meetings regarding this offer.
I have not attended any meetings and even I knew what was on the table. What I didn't know is that
2 of these parcels were granted under Maryland Open Space. In the past if you sold properties granted by Open Space you had to use that money to purchase land with it. So why sell those parcels, if I'm correct on this. In my opinion the Council made a huge mistake selling these properties.
Please Mrs. Cohen explore matters regarding things such as Open Space issues before the vote in the future.

Has the county ever helped with giving the city money to buy these properties? If so, what do they have to say about this?

Anonymous said...

JOE, AS you might already know going after city/government heads will not be easy, however you might want to also sue them personnaly. Your attorneys should know. Good luck and God Speed.

Ambulance for $206,000.00 and water front historical Fire House $100,000.00 What a joke the 3 that accepted this bid are. In 3 years this would have made 3 x as much, then sell it if needed. The bricks we are spending 2 - 3 million on fixing up and was valued at a little over $200,000.00, in that nieghborhood. Again, what a joke. The Gillis's are arrougant, pompus and full of them selves. They will get there's in the long run...

Forgive my typo above should be "their" instead of "there." Must have been empassioned. Thank you, Mrs. Carey.

It is not called the good ole boy network.

It is called Freemasonry.

They want YOU to call it the good ole boy network

Anonymous said...

And what has Freemasonry have to do with it? I don't believe Ireton or Comegys is a Freemason. Or the Gillis 's either.

Joe I hope that you win so you can show the council and our mayor what it truly means to work for the people and not for themselves!!
