NARRATIVE:
On December 1, 2010, at approximately 2354 hours, Troopers from the Maryland State Police Salisbury Barrack responded to the “Dash In” Store located at 7201 Main Street Willards, Wicomico County, Maryland for a report of an armed robbery. A Deputy with the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office was on patrol in the area of Willards, when he observed two black males run from the “Dash In” and get into a vehicle which quickly left. The Deputy stopped the vehicle and observed paper currency on the floor of the vehicle and numerous cartons of cigarettes in the passenger compartment of the vehicle, which matched what was stolen from the Dash In. The clerk from the “Dash In” was able to positively identify two of the occupants of the vehicle as the subjects who had robbed him a short time before and who had stolen cash and cigarettes during the robbery. Wicomico Bureau of Investigations assumed the investigation. The investigation indicated that these subjects were potentially involved in a convenience store robbery that had occurred earlier in the evening in Worcester County. Investigators also obtained video surveillance from the “Dash In”. All four suspects were turned over to Wicomico County Central Booking for processing. Both juveniles were charged as adults due to the nature of the charges.

3) Akeem Samir Mason B/M 17 Years of age, of Painter, VA 23426
4) Takeyah La’Day Mason B/F 23 Years of age, of Melfa, VA 2310
CHARGES:
Armed Robbery, Robbery, 1st Degree Assault, Theft, Conspiracy and related charges (the specific charges vary per individual).
DISPOSITION:

He probably heard the broadcast of an armed robbery in an Ocean Pines convenience store. He probably took the INITIATIVE to be PRO-ACTIVE and head to the Willards area in the event the suspects targeted a convenience store in the east side of Wicomico County. This is policing at its finest! Outstanding work Deputy!
Yea, I agree about the B/F Takeyah! She sure was in the wrong place at the wrong time....guess she and the other three thugs thought they were going to be doing some Christmas shopping this weekend with their stolen goods. Jessup sounds like a good place for them.
It was because of the great work from the Worcester County Sheriff's Office Deputy..While responding to the robbery at the 7-11 he remembered how the last robbery there happened..the suspects later went to the Pittsville store later and robbed them...This Worcester County Deputy advised his dispatcher to alert MSP and Wicomico County Sheriff's Office to be on the alert for these suspects that may be heading to Wicomico to do another robbery..He was right and Wico. Co. Sheriffs Office was in the right place at the right time..Great Team work!!!!!

We all know how dangerous a policeman's job is. Regardless, sure hope the supervisor's of these fine Deputies and Troopers as well as on up to the Brass give a special thank you. Its not everyday you catch an armed robbery suspect right away. Great proactive jobs guys and gals!!
